I think they are close to bringing fully on line.

I have lost commercial FM signal two miles away from the tower when going under a highway overpass. But NASA's webb has no problem transmitting high bandwidth images from over a million miles away. Believable.

How come they have been showing pictures that is stated they have come from James Webb the last 2 weeks if they just got the camera lenses aligned?

those images were inspected by scientists who didn't ask where they come from/how, and have no background in wireles communication science. Perhaps if they had asked, they wouldn't have even bothered recreating the graphics.

You mean the images taken of stars being used for alignment? Like the image with 18 copies of the same star? Or the first "mirror selfie?" They all indicated the mirrors weren't aligned yet.

They already did that to align the scope.

We need them to point it somewhere amazing and share those photos.'

They could start with a closeup of the giant alien ship on the other side of the sun.

The linked describes 300db of signal loss from distance alone. Unclear if the signal loss is of the item being photographed (distant stars) or distance from transmitter unit to receiver. I didn't check if the math or equation is right. There are no amplifiers that have that sort of gain so many have to be stacked one after the other. The "pictures" generated are of static and pink noise generated by amplifying distortion through a bunch of amplifiers. It's like putting 10 distortion boxes between your guitar and amplifier and turning them all on.

If any part of this NASA fable involves moving anything in the vacuum of space with rocket thrust then it's bullshit bullshit bullshit

The science goal is explaining how that thing is transmitting anything from 1,500,000 miles away and how it's being "received". LOL. Explain that before visualizing any of the "data".
