Can't help but wonder, with so many divisive, polarizing posts, how many of said posters are actually human. Every damned subject that arises, regardless of content, focus, etc., in short order anonymous posters arrive in droves with seemingly one dichotomized mission: split opinion into two diametrically opposed positions and stoke both sides to a fever pitch of animosity.

And it's as understandable as it is disappointing to note this tactic's perpetual effectiveness. Success is derived by initially employing simplistic, belittling attacks. As the resulting drama increases, it garners attention as drama is consistently prone to do.

The tactics then shift somewhat, narrowing focus to more reductionistic, but no less demeaning, language. Bit by bit, the ideological gulf separating the positions of those involved expands, widening to ultimately form unbridgeable chasms of vitriol.

Having observed the successful implementation of this tactic numerous times over the previous six or so years, I can only imagine the dire potential of using such digital PSYOPS on a national, or even global scale. We humans truly are far too emotional, a trait easily used to disarm objective thought thus rendering us incapable of mounting any sort of viable strategy. Has always been thus, and ever it shall remain.
