The white grapefruits I ate this winter were wholesome. 1. “You can’t fire a cannon, from a canoe!” 2. “Strength is gained in the range it is trained.” 3. “If it doesn’t swim, run, or fly, or isn’t green and grow in the ground, don’t eat it.” 4. “Know that you have complete control over what you put in your mouth. No one ever ate anything by accident.” |

Someone here are GLp educated me a few years ago that there was change in American TV broadcasting where an effort and decision was made to get rid of all the wholesome shows and replace them with divisive political crap. Thats when the poisoning and brainwashing began. |

There's room at the top they are telling you still Quoting: 666 82488602 But first you must learn how to smile as you kill If you want to be like the folks on the hill You got to be crazy, gotta have a real need Got to sleep on your toes, and when you're on the street Got to be able to pick out the easy meat with your eyes closed Then moving in silently down wind and out of sight You got to strike when the moment is right, without thinking And after a while you can work on points for style Like the club tie and a firm handshake A certain look in the eye and an easy smile You have to be trusted by the people that you lie to So that when they turn their backs on you You'll get the chance to put the knife in You gotta keep one eye looking over your shoulder You know it's gonna get harder, harder and harder as you get older Yeah, and in the end, you'll pack up and fly down south Hide your head in the sand Just another sad old man All alone and dying of cancer And when you lose control You'll reap the harvest you have sown And as the fear grows The bad blood slows and turns to stone And it's too late to loose the weight you used to need to throw around So have a good drown as you go down all alone Dragged down by the stone Gotta admit that I'm a little bit confused Sometimes it seems to me as if I'm just being used Gotta stay awake gotta try and shake off this creeping malaise If I don't stand my own ground, how can I find my way out of this maze? Deaf, dumb and blind, you just keep on pretending That everyone's expendable and no one has a real friend And it seems to you the thing to do would be to isolate the winner And everything's done under the sun And you believe at heart everyone's a killer Who was born in a house full of pain? Who was trained not to spit in the fan? Who was told what to do by the man? Who was broken by trained personel? Who was fitted with colar and chain? Who was given a pat on the back? Who was breaking away from the pack? Who was only a stranger at home? Who was ground down in the end? Who was found dead on the phone? Who was dragged down by the stone? |

Bar soap. Snips of fresh chive on your omelet right from the garden. A chicken walking across your yard looking for worms. A rope swing with a wooden seat. Someone strumming a guitar. The first moment your bare foot hits the grass in spring. Front porches. “A grower of turnips or shaper of clay, a commot Farmer or a king--every man is a hero if he strives more for others than for himself alone.” Lloyd Alexander, The Castle of Llyr |

What is wholesome? Men being men, providing for and protecting women. Women being women, caring for their husbands and children. And ADULTS having sex with other ADULTS of the opposite sex and NOT attracted to children sexually. |

As for the OP... I was born in the 80s but what I miss more than most is growing up it felt like people were a community. People went out of their way to know the people on their street and everything felt closer together. Block parties in the summer seemed like an annual occurrence..then 9-11 happened and it was like all that stopped. You rarely see that kind of comraderie in neighbors now even in the suburbs today...it's like subconsciously everyone realizes it's every man for himself now and we've divided ourselves against each other due to a lack of resources. It's quite sad. I wonder if we'll ever live to see that kind of community again or if it was all just a one off by product of America being the only manufacturing base to survive WW2. |

Things, traditions, and behaviors that promoted a healthy society that was united on cultural norms. No perversion, especially sexual perversion. The trees, the birds, anything natural. Real love, unselfish thinking, babies, chicken pot pie, hot chocolate, warmth, kindness, harmony, apples, camping , roasting marshmallows, fishing all night. Simplicity, another person calm and quiet and thoughtful. Guitar around a campfire. Sounds of a stream or creek. A hammock, genuine laughter, a light summer breeze. Plump juicy blackberries straight off the vine. The smell of honeysuckle. Warm homemade bread with butter. A smile and gentle nod out of no where from another person who understands you without saying a word. Wheat swaying in a field. A clear night filled with stars and a silvery moon. Fresh milk, a rooster baying , hearing a splash at a pond. Tire swings . Fireflies at twilight.
