It's like the old bomber planes humming around. It gets loud, then fades & then returns again. I haven't heard this sound since I was a kid. We lived near Wright Patterson Air Force base at the time. Quoting: Justthefacts12345 It's not a drone, I've heard those. This sound is a very low rumbling buzz. I don't live near WPAFB now, but I do live near Fort Knox, as the crow flies. It is very odd. Probably if there was not so much going on in Ukraine & all the BS our criminal government in DC is doing, I would not even give it a thought. But, it's not something I've heard for years! Dedicated to the brave men who fought and laid down their lives on the beaches of Normandy and the plains of Europe . . . that their sacrifice was not in vain. [link to www.youtube.com (secure)] |

As a kid we use to go to the WPAF base airshows, I've heard them in the flight. I swear that's what it sounds like! Drones usually have more of a higher pitch annoying sound, but maybe they've changed them. |

The sound lasts about 5-10 minutes then fades away for about 20 minutes & then returns again. Going on now for over 3 hours! It's windy hear, maybe it has something to do with the wind? |

I'm not a bot & as I mentioned, this is out of the norm for my area. I've never heard it before. So, unless they just started microwaving for oil in my area, I rather doubt, this sound is what you say it is. Plus, I thought that Buyden had put a stop to all NEW drilling of oil. But it still continues. I'm starting to believe it has something to do with the wind. It's very windy here today & it seems to get louder when the wind increases. Maybe an atmospheric sound? Are we in the middle of a electromagnetic incident? Sun Flare? Something seriously messing with our magnetic field? If it were that I would presume just about everyone would be hearing this sound. It is odd. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78196598 I have also heard it comes from the fly-ash grinding operations at the airbase. It fades out slowly, it doesn't shut off like a switch. Fades out & then fades back in slowly. It is not something I have noticed here before. Been living here for over 30 years. I am noticing my ears are ringing pretty seriously today too! Not sure what that means either. My ears usually only ring after the sun goes down. Never have figured this out either. But the strange noise still continues. |
