I like this, I can relate to weird things and happenings. Weirder that I don't get scared with my own experiences but much fascinated by other's strange experiences.

Some people have the chances, gifts, or whatever you call it and I know from experience that this is generational.

Can we hear more about MRS TODD'S road from the other commenter? Thanks.

I believe you OP. My family and I have had similar experiences near that stretch of 40 traveling to Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg. Disappearing traffic, and appear from nowhere traffic on stretches of highway with no exits for miles. Also, the same exact cars passing by two or three times! Lots of speeding up of time anomalies as well.

And for whatever reason there's ALWAYS 45min traffic stand-stills at the junction entering into Chattanooga/Knoxville/Georgia exits that is nestled in between the mountains, and there is NEVER an accident to be seen. It's ridiculous!

I've experienced these weird glitches my whole life. Same with my husband and children. I even had a time when I was 6, in school, where everything went black and white or grayscale and slow motion. I was moving in slo-mo and all the other kids were too. Lasted about 10 or 15 seconds and then it's like a switch flipped and all the colors came back and everything was moving at normal pace again. So much de ja vu has been experienced, and shared de ja vu moments where it's the whole family having it about the same thing at the same moment. It's wild and mind blowing to say the least.

Not sure why things like this happen.or how they happen. Not sure why they happen to certain people alot, and others have never had the experience. Know you're not crazy unless (nervous laugh) we are all crazy.

bump to read later.

OP, what y'all experienced happens more than you'd think to folks. And I believe it's on a serious uptick where even non tinfoil mad hatters can't deny.

All it takes is one slow car behind you that prevented others from passing the slow truck.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 82556210

Yes, Seen this many times.

When the cones narrowed and backed traffic up for miles, it was because the cars moving ahead when the cones opened to two lane traffic kept going slowly, creeping ahead faster as they accelerate but but leaving many feet of space between cars as they slowly accelerate, not keeping up with car ahead to make more room for cars behind.

You were following a slow moving box truck and the cars ahead had spread out and disappeared by the time the truck made it through.
Then you accelerated as soon as it opened up and left all the slow moving cars behind, still creeping through and then not accelerating that much when it got opened up. So when you looked back there were no cars to be seen as they were still emerging slowly into the opened lanes.

I always leave these tie ups way behind same way you did.

Re: Singular experience last Thursday on a road-trip – shifting timelines? Defies explanation…
My wife and I experienced the time/distance shift a few months ago. We were driving south on the Kansas Turnpike about 9pm. We passed the Matfield Green Service area and the next thing we saw was the Towanda Service area about 30 miles away. We didn't see our exit (El Dorado). We exited the Andover (21st Street) exit. The trip through Andover was about 20 miles extra but we arrived home at the time we originally expected before the "detour". I (driving) was not asleep nor tired and my wife was not tired or asleep. When the exit for the Towanda service area passed my wife said I thought we already passed this thinking it was the Matfield Green service area again. When we realized it was the Towanda service area we began talking about it wondering how we missed the El Dorado exit. It was not a matter of being unfamiliar with the road as we both grew up around Emporia and live in north Wichita and have made the trip many many times.

This past Thursday (3/17/22) My adult daughter and I were driving from TN to NC for a family wedding. We depart the Nashville area early in the morning, prepared for a 9-10 hour drive.

We are excited about the wedding, looking forward to seeing a bunch of family / friends, and the long weekend. Great weather, comfortable car, family dog in the backseat (Ruger, wicked-smart German Shepherd).

About 3 hours into the drive, on I-40 eastbound, her Wayze app pipes up and says there is an accident ahead. Sure enough, within a minute or two, we start to slow down and traffic starts to bunch up.

Another few minutes, and we are at a complete standstill. I throw the car in park, we roll the windows down, and chat about the traffic, the accident, and how we hope it clears soon. A few minutes later, I get out of the vehicle, let Ruger have a pee and a sniff, and I stand in the grass, looking at the traffic jam.

Hundreds (thousands, really) of cars and trucks stretch to my left, west, as far as I can see. To my right, same thing. This is a major traffic jam, both lanes, no exit ramps. Good Dog & I get back in the car. I make a comment to my daughter that I hope we actually get to see the accident, and then feel bad for saying it. Minutes pass, and we slowly start to move.

Another few minutes, crawling at maybe a walking speed, suddenly there are orange cones reducing the two lanes to one. We end up behind a big box truck, trapped in our lane, unable to see anything ahead of us. Must be a bad accident.

Behind us, an endless line of traffic. In front of us, nothing visible but the roll-up door of the box-truck.

We have seen no evidence of an accident. No emergency vehicles, no debris. Also no signs of construction other than the orange cones.

Then the cones start to march away, to my left, opening up the left-hand lane. I hit my blinker (habit), pass the truck, get back into the right-hand lane, and start accelerating.

What I see in front of me takes a few seconds to process.

There is no traffic. Just an empty two-lane freeway, slowly rising up to a crest, a mile or two in the distance. My brain tries to reconcile what I am seeing, because I expected to see hundreds of cars and trucks accelerating & jockeying for position, just freed from the single lane, walking speed, traffic jam.

Instead, nothing. As I accelerate up to about 80 mph, we have a weird exchange of “Wait, what?” and “do you see this?” type comments.

As we pull farther away from the slower-moving box truck, I look in the rearview mirror and my stomach drops. There is no traffic behind us, either. Except for the truck, receding in the distance. My daughter is semi-speechless. We share awkward laughter and keep looking at each other for confirmation that we are both seeing the same thing.

It was perhaps two or three minutes, zooming along at about 85 (the freeway is frikken empty), and we started to encounter sporadic traffic. I also started to see vehicles behind us. Another few minutes, and it seemed to be restored to the normal amount of traffic.

At the dinner, wedding, and reception, we shared the experience with family and close friends. People that know we are not delusional. We mostly got wide eyes and responses like: “I got nothing.” “Crazy.” A few red-pilled people were talking Mandela and the multi-verse and shifting timelines.

We were sober, alert, visibility was perfect. Neither of us have ever had hallucinations that we are aware of. We are both very red-pilled, and often discuss GLP-ish things.

I have seen some shit in my 50+ years. I have never had an experience that straight-up defies ANY explanation that is conventional. My daughter and I have talked about this several times a day, every day, since it happened. We are both still at a loss.

I swear and affirm that everything I just wrote is accurate to my knowledge and memory. In fact, I wanted to make this post in order to get it written down and archive it. My daughter mentioned this morning that as time passes, she is finding herself doubting what we experienced, as though just a week of confusion is enough to make our minds start to scrub away something we cannot explain. I do not want that to happen, because I KNOW what I saw (or didn’t see) and I do not want it to go down the memory-hole.

I will say, I am glad we experienced it together, so we each have a witness.

I got nothing.

I may be a crazy GLP'er, but I am not nuts. I know what I experienced, and for the first time in my life, I cannot come up with a rational answer outside of God, multi-verse, timeline shifts, maybe a little Mandela thrown in...

What say you, GLP? I am really looking forward to your insights.

I am gonna try to karma-pin this.

In front of the box truck going to the left or right was the TURN you were supposed to take for your detour. You and the box truck went the WRONG way but that was okay because the mess was fixed. The people behind you saw the detour and were obedient sheep.

Poster 979 explained it. I used to drive truck. Would piss me off. Waste time in traffic jam get through and find there was no reason for jam as it was cleared hours ago and traffic is still backed up because of it.
Also hate when backed up due to construction zone and there is no construction going on/

Re: Singular experience last Thursday on a road-trip – shifting timelines? Defies explanation…
Once my husband and I were driving on a slick highway at the usual speed, like 55. in a regular sedan-sized car. There were cars all around us, in front, in back, to the sides. We suddenly spun entirely around. While spinning, hubs glanced over at me, I didn't scream (which I'm kind of proud of) Did we crash? no. He continued to drive as if it didn't happen. We hit nothing, nothing hit us. He said something calm like "whoops". Later we laughed about our luck.

Once there was a thread on GLP about the possibility that when we die "out of script" or "before our time" our story just keeps on going on "miraculously" because we sign up for a certain life with certain challenges and a certain ending.

It was an interesting thought.
 Quoting: Eilonwy

I had something similar to that happen to me too! It was years ago when I was in my late 20s. You know how we do stupid things when we're younger. Anyway, I was out late at night drinking with some friends at a local bar that was down this very curvy road. When it was time to leave I was going to follow them in my car to another house afterwards. It had rained earlier and the road was slick, not to mention I shouldn't of been driving after drinking anyhow. The car I was following was driving a little faster than I felt comfortable going, but I was trying to keep up with them anyway. All of the sudden my car hydroplaned and I lost control. I slide and spun around, then shot off the road. This was a really curvy hilly road with trees completely lining both sides. Strangely enough, even though I had no control over my car whatsoever, I found myself stopped off the road just as nice as you please with no harm done, on a little drive way that I had never noticed before, which was surrounded by trees on both sides. I should of crashed into the ditch and into those trees, but instead it was just like I'd intentionally pulled off the road there and neatly parked. I felt very, very lucky that night! I just don't know, but it's possible that maybe it wasn't my time to die yet and that's why I was so lucky.

Re: Singular experience last Thursday on a road-trip – shifting timelines? Defies explanation…
When I was a kid, this happened to me quite a few times: I would be playing outside, when I would get the feeling I should go lay on my back outside the house, on the lil strip of lawn near the kitchen. To just look up into the sky. Then I would get to feeling weird, dizzy, even nauseous, shaky, like I was not connected to my body really. Incredibly weird feeling. I would each time go into the kitchen and go sit on a certain chair. Before I went out to play the house would be noisy, the woman who adopted me would be cooking, kitchen messy and busy. Her 2 adult sons listening to loud music, drinking, laughing, talking. But now the house would be dead quiet, everyone were gone, the kitchen was spick 'n span. Like the house been tidied up and the owners gone on holiday. The air felt weird, the light quality too, it felt dead in there, is how I can describe it.I'd sit on that chair till I felt ok again, then went back off outside to play. Lil while later my mother would call me in for dinner and everything was back to normal. Messy kitchen, loud music, the whole scene as before. This happened quite often in my childhood, from about age 6-10 yo age.I didn't tell my mother about this, or any other strange experiences I had because the first time I tried she just said That's crazy talk and I need to stop it. But more than 46 years later, I still remember these happenings like yesterday.

something like this happened to me today actually... was leaving my neighborhood and saw an elderly guy walking to his mailbox and I went to the store that was about 5 - 10 minutes away. When I got back into the neighborhood he was just getting to the mailbox and checking the mail. This guy was no more than 5 feet from it walking to it the first time I passed and he was not wearing any clothes that would show he was doing any work outside. very odd.

Thanks for sharing. I've also had quite a few really bizarre traffic experiences. Basically completely unnatural traffic behaviors, levels of traffic, driving behaviors etc. Noticed some things that basically seemed to defy logic, reason, etc. in how we view this reality as real. it just wasn't "normal" in the sense that behaviors and reactions on the road were not adding up at all times. very strange indeed.

You were stuck behind that truck. For whatever reason he was going slow, maybe mechanical issues. The cars in front of him that were in front of him all got back up to highway speed and were long gone by the time you passed him. He also blocked your view looking back, so that you could not see the cars behind him.
 Quoting: Skorpio

We have talked about this, my daughter & I as well as friends / family... it could explain why there was no traffic in front of us. However as we were accelerating away from the truck, there should have been vehicles using the now-available second-lane. In the rear-view mirror, I could see the moving truck and the empty freeway rising behind him. That moment was the most surreal of the whole experience.

OP, I had a similar experience many years ago.

I was with my wife driving home after shopping. Have been living in that neighborhood for over 30 years and travel on the same route, so I know the streets very well.

On that day, I was waiting in a dedicated left turning lane with about 4 cars ahead and about 15 cars behind.

When the left turn signal light turned green, the cars started to move quickly. I should note first that the drivers at this intersection are always impatient, and they always speed by me on the inside lane after I make the turn. Well, this time after I made the turn I noticed several things that seemed very strange.

I noticed the four cars that were in front of me at the queue disappeared after the turn, and no cars sped by me so I checked my rear view and side mirrors and there were no cars behind me.

As I was trying to figure out what is going on, I noticed that part of the street look completely different. Instead of the normal tree lined street with no stores, it was a street with many more street lights and full of stores but no people. No cars and no people, just an empty street.

I started to panic, thinking I might hit the cars ahead of me that I can't see. And If I try to brake fast to pull over, I might get rear ended by the cars behind me that I don't see. Pulling over wouldn't have worked anyways, because I then realized I couldn't turn the steering wheel and the brakes don't work. Basically I am a passenger in the car, not the driver.

So I turned to my wife, who seemed quite serene, to tell her what was happening, but I had no voice. Then I realized I don't hear anything, just complete silence.

This all lasted for about 20 seconds, and thankfully everything went back to "normal" after that.

In case anyone asks, I don't partake in recreational drugs, alcohol, medication, or anything that could disturb the mind.

I told my wife about my incident after we got home shortly thereafter. She said I might have shifted frequency and went somewhere else. She did not see what I saw.

Well, no harm done other than a brief moment of panic.

What if lots of people were already missing, and the way they have been hiding this is with holographic projections of both people and traffic?

What if now and then something bumps the satellite projector or some other cause makes it glitch?

What if there are far fewer people in existence than it looks like, but holographic projections making illusions hide that fact?

Re: Singular experience last Thursday on a road-trip – shifting timelines? Defies explanation…

Uh…..
Wyze is an app on which you can actually communicate with other drivers who routinely show up as clickable icons on the very same highway/ same traffic jams on the app’s GPS/ map. …..
Did it ever occurr to you to do that?

I read with interest your really well-written introduction
on your strange--maybe even MANDELA EXPERIENCE--recounting of
that traffic accident.

Back in the 1980's before the weird time-change "glitches"
we are now understanding (thanks to the "Matrix Movie" right?)
...I was the next car behind a fatal head-on (one car passing
another on a curve) accident.

I can tell you that the "energy" in the surrounding space
around a fatal accident is ALWAYS "wonky."

I'm thinking that when a person actually dies a VIOLENT death
like you most likely were "in range of"--there is a very
brief (but REAL) rift in reality. It is the "door" opening
(I believe) for that person or persons to move into another
dimension. This can be a very tiny window--or it can be
a bigger "window" in the case of multiple deaths--which may
have been your accident site since it lasted much longer.

I also gave first aide in the 80's at a multiple car crash
and was walking around checking for survivors (I'm a career
CNA and felt I could adequately provide CPR if needed)--and
I can personally attest to this "shift in energy."

Science hasn't caught up yet to the strange workings of
Creator's Universe. You just go by the "seat of your pants"
in these situations. But it is always good to get other
confirmation of your paranormal experience from others.

I believe it.

cheers
