SAVE MONEY on FOOD
Buying in Bulk alone (by the case full) is almost a 50% price difference for most fruits and veggies.

6.99 compared to 3.50 buying zucchini by the kilo, and around the same for Broccoli.

TPTB inflate food, fuel and commodity prices - then tell us how we can 'save money on food/fuel/etc'

Re: SAVE MONEY on FOOD
Buying in bulk comes with at least two major lessons.

Lesson #1: buy ingredients that are COMMON to your recipes in bulk. Nothing worse than sitting on too much of something that you're tired of forcing into your diet because the price was right

Lesson #2: ask friends and neighbors if they would be willing to split a case with you or to buy a unit from your supply at cost for UNCOMMON items. This way you can get the benefits of the bulk unit cost and minimize clutter. Gotta really trust that the people you're interacting with actually will come through with payment though. Or, if you're willing to eat the cost you could donate extra items that would either degrade in quality by the time you use them or just simply take up too much space

I can live off PBJ

"We’ll do the PBJ math: Depending on brands and how much of each ingredient you use, your PBJ will be around 380 to 430 calories and will cost between 46 to 76 cents."

Re: SAVE MONEY on FOOD
Energy, retail, rent or housing is what is really costing you.

Food is just the icing on the inflation cake.

Food IS retail

Energy costs and food are the two constant needs that are in nearly constant inflation. Housing costs aren't a level concern across the field and mortgages/rents are pretty much locked in and non-food things like phones aren't essential to buy week in, week out

perishables are not what you bulk buy for unless you can consume them all before they go bad.

You may survive on PBJ over the short term, but long term is an issue. Not only will you have to eat six a day to maintain minimum daily calorie intake, but there are key nutrients missing and the high carbohydrate/ protein balance isn't good.

Re: SAVE MONEY on FOOD
Walmart and other such large food retailers waste much also. Dispersing this waste to food banks and discount retailers would benefit small communities.

As to energy?

That's a whole different animal.

The use of electricity hasn't been around all that long...

The whole world is lit now!

You didn't build that. lol

Lotsa possibilities. You could even buy in bulk together with a few other people items which are too expensive to buy alone.

Yeah; this is great if you're a vegetarian with a cellar and refrigerators to hold all these bulk vegetables and fruit which go bad even if refrigerators contain them.

If I were buying bulk fruits, they'd get dried or jarred.

Veggies, if fresh...(not in a can fresh) go bad quick.
