If we don't pay the minimum amount, which is the interest on the debt, then we go into default... Imagine if we don't pay anything. Have you ever gone through Bankruptcy... The US Fiat Dollar would lose it's reserve currency. That means no more printing money out of thin air. Then the dollar collapses in value with the cost of goods going into hyper-inflation. Then our credit would be bad, therefore countries would not trade with us. They might accept Gold. Do we have anymore. We would go into a very deep depression. Remember, FDR confiscated all the private gold in the last depression... Finally, our country would look like a third world country with mass chaos and civil unrest... So, it will get a lot worse if we don't pay...  ^^100% pure bullshit.  |

Someone's DEBT always means that it is someone's ASSETS. So by eliminating these debts you are at the same time destroying the assets which will lead the financial system into a worldwide crisis. You are drawing financial resources out of the market. The only way to go for the U.S. government is having printed more and more money. The FED is owned by private banks who are printing and lending the money to the U.S.-Government (= U.S. people) on behalf of the government. Once oil and other essential goods will be traded in other currencies than the U.S.-$ this will become a problem for the U.S. (--> e.g. Russia is now selling its oil in Rubles or in Yuan). When this happened in the past in other countries the U.S. was always busy trying to intervene militarily. However, nowadays this is not so easy anymore as parts of the world (China, Russia, India etc.) are having a closer look at such actions. So, the U.S. is getting weaker and weaker and I am afraid that this is not going to end well for your country. |

They once owned about 3.2 T but dumped a bunch a few years ago. That was supposed to crash the dollar too...and here we are, it didn't. We owe the majority or about 90% to the Federal Reserve...which blows my mind. It is kinda like owing your spouse who owns a money printing press and can digitally print money infinitely. What has the possibility of taking us out financially is a sudden, huge uptick in interest rates that sets of the derivatives "bomb". That has the potential to bankrupt the banks literally overnight. Derivatives are tough to understand, kinda like side bets on side bets. They are not widely regulated and are estimated to be in the 4,000,000,000,000 that is 4 quadrillion...Holy shit, nothing even matters at that point. We would need a bail out from the "martians" at that point. I personally have very little in the bank and the rest in tangible assets...not tangible now maybe (outside of a large chunk of metal I inherited). It is all bullshit, funny money and another thing to scare the hell out of us. Covid...nope didn't work, WW3 nope didn't work, crash the US economy...TBD.
