They may be singing (sometimes not). Quoting: rod777 The people responsible for the music in the 60's and 70's were these guys... The Wrecking Crew... The Wrecking Crew, was a loose collective of Los Angeles-based session musicians whose services were employed for thousands of studio recordings in the 1960s and 1970s, including several hundred Top 40 hits. The musicians were not publicly recognized in their era, but were viewed with reverence by industry insiders. They are now considered one of the most successful and prolific session recording units in music history. For the documentary film about these musicians, see The Wrecking Crew (2008 film). True, and most of them couldn't even play an instrument or read music. Certainly couldn't sing live. All intel projects. |

But these musicians made it work. Without them, you had nothing. Can also be rented or purchased on amazon [link to www.amazon.com (secure)] |

All they were were session musicians, it was common knowledge session musicians played on other peoples records. Hendrix and jimmy page were session musicians also. "ALMOST all the music and bands are NOT doing the music themselves. Not even remotely true. Many\most of those bands especially 60s-70s and 80s had musicians easily as good as a session musician. |

My favorite album of all time, The Downward Spiral by Nine Inch Nails was ghost written by the producers Flood and Moulder and played by session musicians. It's hilarious when I watch interviews with them about making that album, it's always about how they came up with this bass part of that guitar part, and Trent Reznor is just sort of like oh gah lee I wrote the lyrics lols. It's just a bad day, not a bad life. If you run, I will run, until my last breath. |
