Nurse says I need you to go in the bathroom and fill this cup... Problem ensues. Funny and Embarrassing

I go to the doc for a physical, a few years ago.

He says "Go see the nurse, and give her a urine sample".


She says, I quote:

"I need you to go to the bathroom, use this cup to divide the stream in half, and fill it at least half way"

I go into the bathroom, I feel a huge mental struggle mounting as I consider her directions, as I try to understand the logic of it all. I finally complete the goal, and go back to the nurses station.

The nurse asks "What took so long".

I replied: "I stood there trying to figure out your directions, the why and the how, plus I had to clean up the mess"

She says "What mess"?

I said "The mess I made following your directions to divide the stream in half"... Half went in the cup and half went all over the floor...

She laughed, and said "Boy you are literal aren't you.
