They've probably moved most stuff beyond satellite communication. Clinton sold bunch of military satellites to Google so there's no point in depending on a compromised system to begin with. If they didn't do this than all the money they have been given will have truly been for nothing.

Missiles generally need radar guidance. The growler is designed to take out radar while at a survivable distance from anti-air missiles.


Hypersonic missiles are not for shooting down planes that I am aware of. Something going Mach 8 might be able to turn a little bit (enough to deviate from the predicted ballistic flight path), but no way could it maneuver to hit or even come close to a plane in flight that was maneuvering in the slightest. ANd there would not be a missile seeker head on a hypersonic weapon that could withstand the incredible heat generated on the frontal aspects of the missile.

Just my opinion. Not a rocket scientist in real life. :)
