:rere23:  Russia's nuclear capability is much newer and more up to date than that of the US, whereas the US hasn't tested their stuff since the 1970s, have made no improvements, and have no idea whether they'll even work. This has been attested two in interviews given publicly the last few weeks by a couple different military analysts. Also mentioned on camera by the Secretery of Defense Mark Asper, US have old nukes, Russia has all the new up to date stuff.
