From what I understand, the goal of the West, which prominently includes the US, desires to collapse Russia economically, break it up and plunder the included natural resources. Once that goal is attained, the plan includes doing the same to China.

What drives the US economy is the continual propping up the accumulated debt with even more debt. It's very similar to paying one credit card with another credit card, and paying the minimum fee on that credit card with another credit card, all the while proclaiming that none of any of that debt will ever be repaid.
