Because cats CAN transmit Covid. Let me tell you how I know this:

In April of 2020 I tried to get a vet appointment for a stray. I called every vet in 2 counties and the soonest was 6 weeks out. I made the appointment. Every time it got within a week, then pushed it out another month.

I started calling emergency vets knowing it was going to cost me plenty. I finally got one to agree to see my cat (it was a kitten when I started!). They would not allow anyone in the office, I had to wait in my truck.

The lady took the cat and came back 15 minutes later and refused to do anything for the cat!

I got upset and said, "You won't honor appointments, you keep pushing them out and out. Then I finally get in here and you won't do anything for my cat! What is really going on? Is this about Covid?" She said, "We're not supposed to say... but yes." Then she hurried off.

The reason they kept pushing the appointments out was because they were TOLD cats can transmit Covid. Was it true? I have no idea. But there was a lot of fear by all veterinarians.

Europe killed all the kitties during the Middle Ages. Karma showed up in the form of the Black Death.

I would not put it past them over here in the states grabbing strays and using that as meat... sicking filthy slobs they are!! I stopped eating Chinese food a while ago!!!!1

When I was travelling CHina for Business a long time ago, the street vendors would have a bunch of live / half dead ducks tied at the neck in a bundle. They kept the animals barely alive so they would not rot while waiting for a buyer.

Brutal practice.
