I found him mildly amusing. Takes me back to the second generation of Saturday Night, and I was disappointed that my heroes had moved on, but I at least paid attention to the new cast and watched it fairly regularly. Force of habit, I suppose. It was still okay, just not the high point of my week.

But back to Gilbert: his deal was mocking the annoyingness of the Nee Yike types, and in particular, the annoyingness of those who can't be named (much less criticized) on this forum. Ballsy of him, I thought. Fran Drescher did sorta the same thing, in the female context.
