Nearly 5 million working-age men are "missing" from the workforce, reports Bloomberg. While the employment rate for men ages 25 to 54 is almost back to where it was before the pandemic — about 86% of this cohort have jobs — it’s still some 7 percentage points below where it was in 1950s and ’60s. Experts say those men are “missing” from the labor force for several reasons, ranging from reduced job opportunities for the less educated to the effect of the opioid epidemic and the improvement of video games.

Way more than 5M women are working today that were all home in the 50s.

The world has gotten worse and worse as more people have had to work. Very few kids get raised decently now. These young generations are scary as they are going to be the neglected monsters they were made into. We are already seeing some of these younger generations come on the scene and they are straight nuts. All because of too many people have to work menial jobs to get by rather than doing the very important jobs in the households.

The video game improvement is a real thing. Nowdays if you know what youre doing you can make a full time living as a streamer playing games on twitch, it just takes a long time or really good luck to actually succeed. those men arent in the workforce anymore
