No, tactics haven't fully evolved to counter them.

People think precision munitions means the end of carpet bombing and a reduction of civilian deaths.

It doesn't mean that at all because troops now hide behind civilians to avoid those precision strikes.

So, carpet bombing is one of the successful strategies that can be used to counter man portable ATGM's. Russia has not done this yet but that is a political and moral decision they haven't yet been willing to make.

When it comes down to a choice of either winning or losing, they will finally make that choice. Any other government that criticizes them for that, especially the US, is a fucking hypocrite.

That's true; but Russia's enemies aren't the Ukraine people who they want to subjugate with promises of a better life like endless peoples of a country they want to rule.

Russia knows if the west fails, then Ukraine will be theirs, along with most of Europe.

For Russia to win in Ukraine they just need to weaken western resolve; people have already lost faith in the usd as a store of value after the US stole Russia's US reserves as well as the EU stealing Russia's Euros.

Would you hold US Dollars knowing they can be stolen from you for any reason?

Putin knows that the only thing holding up the Dollar is faith in it. When that erodes like it has, then the "Almighty" Dollar isn't worth that much as a tool of trade.

No. The Russians just have terrible tactics, strategy, recon AND logistics. They will probably improve as they always do --> Start out terrible, then eventually adapt and grind the enemy down.

You must be unaware of how advanced AI is.

Pretend the government has just slightly better stuff than the public sector. Well, the public sector has self-driving cars that drive around 24/7 on public streets. The public sector has robots that are better farmers than humans, that can read medical charts better than doctors, that can make legal determinations better than lawyers and on and on.

They have the technology. I assure you.


EDIT: I would also add that to make their war machines extremely effective, they could upload a complete database of Ukrainian military personnel into drone software. The drones would then target military personnel by facial recognition. Small drones, small guns, large flight radius. Move specially modified Ukrainian civilian vehicles into position to recharge the drones' batteries with quiet diesel generators. Fully autonomous drone army that resupplies itself.

Russians are playing swat team cop tactics in Ukraine.
