As previously mentioned by a poster above I don't understand why employers in the service industry don't pay their employees a normal living wage.
Why is the customer expected to offset the difference in tips while the company is allowed to pay employees below the Federal minimum wage?
Quoting: Anonymous Coward 82484402 Because the drivers are contractors for the company, not employees. Each driver according to the IRS technically is running their own business. They file a 1099 tax form during tax season. Taxes aren’t pulled out of their checks each week like an employee.
