I actually make money off my CC's. It is not much, 50 to 100 a month, but compared to 10/20 years ago when I was stuck in the great mess, it is about 7 thousand a year difference.

Pay it off--every month without exception unless you are starving.

I have not paid a dime in interest for many years now (except mortgage)--it is a nice feeling.

I use cash once in a while but generally it is CC's all the way--the easiest way to track expenditures.

I set up all my monthly bills to to be automatically paid by credit card and the credit card deducts payment in full from my checking account on the monthly due date. The credit card has no annual fee and I pay no interest, and I get cash back every year. So convenient.
