The solution to leaded gas was to add catalytic converters that would clog if exposed to leaded gas. They used smog as the selling point, with the leaded gas threat. The catalytic converter converts smog causing emissions into CO2 at the cost of requiring more fuel and carbon emissions. So the leaded gas disaster was cured by causing the carbon emission/climate change disaster. This is proof that politicians have no place making laws regarding technology, as they are incapable of understanding it. All they know are law, public speaking and political science, all completely useless knowledge when it comes to real world problems. |
