Life is so fucking unfair and our society so sick.

He's drug and alcohol free, as in never drank or did drugs.

Never went to prison or even jail.

His father murdered his Mom in front of him then suicided. He was raised in a good foster home, but obviously had developmental and stability issues.

Only bad habit is puffs of cigars. He has mesothelioma from doing demo construction in his youth. He was told he should be ok and live at least another 20 years if he can stop the smoking. Other then that he's functional.

He's wandered place to place for 40 years. Lost all his teeth years ago.

Monday we will try to find out what we can do to get his Birth C and ID back so he can get on disability or SS. He's 62 and has nothing. He can and wants to work, but needs the ID. He may need to be on a med but he seems totally fine without anything.

Thank goodness it's summer so he can be outside. I'm going to see if I can find him a tent on Craigslist, the damm things are so expensive.

He needs to contact his step parents who are still alive and live in Co Springs. If they say he can come home for help to get the ID's , I may drive him there.

Fucking Greyhound wants 200 bucks to go from Nashville to Denver. Insanity.

I'm in no better shape then he is emotionally. Both of us fell through societies cracks. He actually has better resources than I do, money or not.

I 'homed a homeless guy one evening. told him which sofa to sleep on. When I woke up the next day he'd pissed my sofa like a fucking elephant and left the apartment.

Landlord came round the next day, smelled the piss and I lost my deposit.

Here's what happened. He was with me an entire weekend, about 4 days. Had his own room, cozy bed, DVD player and movies. It took until Monday/Tuesday to figure out he wasn't all there. He started to complain about little things which blew my mind. He didn't know basic social graces and was sloppy. He's been on the streets off and on since 15. Lost all his teeth by 40.

Turns out he's illiterate, can barely read or write. He had extreme PTSD and ADD.

He just wasn't well enough to be helped with just food and shelter. I dropped him off at the Mens shelter and have no idea what happened to him after that. Nashville has endless resources for people who accept the help, so hopefully he found someone who got him back on meds.

He wasn't drug or alcohol addicted, so he was an excellent candidate to get help. The issue is in order to get medications these people have to commit to living somewhere and they don't want to. They want to wander. He should be able to maintain his meds without being held prisoner in his own country.

This is true for all of us and all meds, before 2013, you could fill a prescription nationwide. Now it has to be within the state the doctor prescribes. Thats what got him in trouble, he left his last residence then lost his resources. All he gets is a disability check deposited into an account once a month from the Gov. Well they should "deposit" his meds as well the same way so he can get them wherever he is!

Our system is broken in every aspect. It comes down to the same thing; agree to be a prisoner and you get needs met. Seek freedom and you lose all.

If you were that good of a person you wouldnt be calling him a hobo. Whats the purpose of even posting this? has nothing to do with anything, people that actually help people dont go around telling everyone they helped someone, especially calling them a name like hobo. Just help him, no need to tell everyone, do cause u want to help not cause u want everyone to know that u helped, cause then ur not doing it to be helpful, ur doing it for praise and acknowledgement from others. I give out 100 a week to homeless people randomly, every week, never have i had to come to a forum to tell everyone.....God see's if ur actually trying to help someone, none of us matter in the end to u anyways, god is the only one u need praise from and he knows if ur helping to help or if ur seeking self gradification!

Well you just did! And giving out cash is so much easier to do than what OP is describing.

And 'hobo' is not a derogatory term.

Most people have become so cynical and ruled by fear. I wish you good luck Feathery in this amazing good will effort. Be safe.

When I was young enough to be put into Sunday school, my teacher took in a homeless guy. He immediately raped her and molested her children. She got pregnant from it and chose to keep the baby because God forgave him and she did too. I would have cut his nuts off with a rusty shovel so...good for her I guess. Good luck to yours, too.

Hahahahaha

it's their gas, their property

I have no right to someone else's property so it's no big deal

you just can't take whatever you want

unless you are an American like antifa or blm then you can loot, burn, pillage all you want

or if you are black you can walk in, take what you want up to $950 free of charge

like this black accused serial shoplifter Lorenzo McLucas. Guy has 122 arrests (50 this year alone), two felony convictions, 29 misdemeanor convictions, and 20 missed court appearances. He was just arrested again and released today without bail.

Several years ago, on the train platform in Philadelphia, there was a guy, around 30 years old with a light jacket on. His gloves had big holes in them. He had no shoelaces in his sneakers. It was February.... freezing weather.

There were several other people waiting for the train, so I wasn't afraid. I asked him why he didn't have a heavier coat on. He said he was homeless, but in a shelter. I asked where his shoelaces were. He said someone stole them when he was sleeping.

I asked where he was going. He went on to say that he's been saving money for a bus trip to Florida. He lived there, but came to Philadelphia for a job that fell through. He said he was on his way to the main train/bus office where he was depositing money when he had some. He almost had enough for that bus trip. I asked how much he needed for that bus trip to Florida. He said $65.00.

By then, we took our seats on the train. It turned out he was diagonally across the aisle from me. I looked in my purse for money. I only found a $20 bill, so I handed it to him. I could see tears well up in hs eyes. He thanked me.

I wondered if I had more money somewhere in my purse, so I searched my wallet and all the zippered compartments. I came up with $45.

That was the $65 he needed.

To this day, I find it so ironic that I had the $65 he needed...and not one penny more....or else I would have given him more.

I always wanted to buy him a coat and gloves since I asked for his name and where the shelter was. I never got around to it.
