Well, I help them when they are begging, go into the store snd buy them food. I don’t give them money. Cause if they are using they will just spend it on drugs. There are places you can go that will provide meals. But I would never bring them inside.

Very kind of you. Once he has his papers, teach him how to fish.

Can he read and write? If so, introduce him to the internet and show him how to find help/work/his data online. Learning the basics of the internet is underrated and will provide the largest platform for continued support and direction.

Life is so fucking unfair and our society so sick.

He's drug and alcohol free, as in never drank or did drugs.

Never went to prison or even jail.

His father murdered his Mom in front of him then suicided. He was raised in a good foster home, but obviously had developmental and stability issues.

Only bad habit is puffs of cigars. He has mesothelioma from doing demo construction in his youth. He was told he should be ok and live at least another 20 years if he can stop the smoking. Other then that he's functional.

He's wandered place to place for 40 years. Lost all his teeth years ago.

Monday we will try to find out what we can do to get his Birth C and ID back so he can get on disability or SS. He's 62 and has nothing. He can and wants to work, but needs the ID. He may need to be on a med but he seems totally fine without anything.

Thank goodness it's summer so he can be outside. I'm going to see if I can find him a tent on Craigslist, the damm things are so expensive.

He needs to contact his step parents who are still alive and live in Co Springs. If they say he can come home for help to get the ID's , I may drive him there.

Fucking Greyhound wants 200 bucks to go from Nashville to Denver. Insanity.

I'm in no better shape then he is emotionally. Both of us fell through societies cracks. He actually has better resources than I do, money or not.

Your home is now infested with lice, bedbugs, and various assorted diseases.

It's probably best to just abandon the home, and live on the streets yourself now. At least you can get plenty of sunshine and fresh air outside.

if you are homeless and sober you must have some insane mental problems. There are 100s if not 1000s of programs for free money and food but alot of them require drug testing

Buy him the bus ticket, have you checked gas prices lately?
Round trip
2,316 miles divided by even 25 mpg =92.6
92.6 x 4.00= $370.00

3 nights hotel x 150.00 = 450.00
Food = $120.00

Gas $370.00
food $120.00
room $450.00

Total= $940.00

Buy the damned bus ticket.

OP, I don't know what to say really. Wandering for 40 years, this guy is completely unstable!!! No one wonders for 40 years without being unstable.

Also, missing all teeth, MANY times that is a meth problem!!!

PS, drug addicts will NEVER tell you're they're doing. They will always tell you they QUIT or have never done the stuff before. Trust me, I know, unfortunately, had people close to me that were users, they were always "quitting".

You could have helped him WITHOUT bringing him to your home!!!!

Stay safe OP!!!!!
 Quoting: Keilani

People lost all their teen thousands of years before meth, the man might be unstable but that doesn't make him dangerous.

I guarantee 100% posters in this thread wouldn't do the same as OP. Myself included.

Leave her alone.

Sometimes you lose all emotions and will to live.

And then someone just drops down into your life.

Maybe not what she was looking for but maybe what she needed.

She needed a distraction from her own problems and this may be what she needs just in time.

Let her be without the rude comments.

People who invoke "our democracy" really mean "their power." We are not now, nor have we ever been, a democracy. That's deliberate Communist word shifting. We are a constitutional republic.

If you were that good of a person you wouldnt be calling him a hobo. Whats the purpose of even posting this? has nothing to do with anything, people that actually help people dont go around telling everyone they helped someone, especially calling them a name like hobo. Just help him, no need to tell everyone, do cause u want to help not cause u want everyone to know that u helped, cause then ur not doing it to be helpful, ur doing it for praise and acknowledgement from others. I give out 100 a week to homeless people randomly, every week, never have i had to come to a forum to tell everyone.....God see's if ur actually trying to help someone, none of us matter in the end to u anyways, god is the only one u need praise from and he knows if ur helping to help or if ur seeking self gradification!
