Any Riding Mower Gurus on Here?
I know it's a long shot, but we have an old YTH2448 Husqvarna and the engine appears to be done on it. Our neighbor has a LGT2554 with a bad rear end, and I would like to swap the rear end from ours to his because the deck is bigger on his.

But I already have a headache trying to find the answer to this and it's only been 2 1/2 hours....I know we can swap the engine to ours, and that will be fine, but if it's possible, I'd really like to swap the transmission/rear end.

Anyone have any idea if this is possible? Or practicable?

reading your user name in conjunction with the theme of the post reminds me of the crypto called Pancakeswap:

the only way for you to find out if it is going to swap, is to bite the bullet and do the work. I'd guess no, but I know jack shit about riding mowers. be a fun project, I say you do it, throw it on the innertube so we can watch the failed outcome.

Here is Ac's reply:

You have the majority of the community blocked from replying to your post.

Mower mechanic here. The specs between these two mowers are very similar. They are both hydrostatic transmissions with identical controls. It should be an easy swap. Mind your input pulley size because they may be different. If the pulley on the old transmission is smaller, depending on the size of the motor pulley, you will have to either swap the transmission pulley or use the belt from the old mower. But in either case it should no be much of a headache.

He is probably right. I had a reply all made up and hit post and it went poof. Probably cause of the slang word for transmission was used. Lol.

Both are hydrostatic and both were in production during some of the same times. They both have Tough Torq transmissions.

I would call a lawn mower repair man and consult with them.
