You do not understand perhaps because you have no children and don't grasp the child-father relationship. God is Father to creation and lets His creation do things. That is free will. There are consequences when a child disobeys and do evil, and we see it throughout the Bible of God's wrath. There is also grace and mercy when a child repents and returns to the Father.

The story of the prodigal son illustrates this relationsihp very well. The Father allows the son to freely do what he wants, and he messes up and reaps the conequences, and he later freely choses to return to the Father, and the Father welcomes him back.

God demonstrates patience for His children. He gives them free will and so they sin. You call this evil and "sick", but if you have your own children, you will see this is actually Love. And if God were the kind of complete control-freak tyrant you think He should be, you would still call Him evil for doing so.

Like the story of the prodigal son, if the Father had chopped his son's arms and legs off to stop him from sining, you would say that is evil.

The point is, your stance is hypocritical because no matter what, God is not good enough for you. And it is this type of thinking, this type of pride, that leads man to rebel against God in the first place and do evil.
