I think you're talking about what happened decades ago.

It very well could have, no one could really know what time frame or approach an alien invasion would take. If they live 1000 years then a few decades is no time at all to them. And maybe they even like to watch the humans fight and suffer along the way.

Yes, that would make sense that some are aliens.

Watch the movie "The Man from Planet Earth" and then extrapolate that under a different scenario.

If you could assimilate into another planet's population unnoticed but bring essentially super powers to the table and/or ability to create unlimited funds and manipulate at will, think how easy it would be to take over....and they would be none the wiser.
