We May Have to John Galt this Place

For those that have not read this classic (Atlas Shrugged), first off, read it.

Synopses: The parasitic behavior of the government becomes overwhelming. Taxes are over the top. Private companies are allowed to flourish if they let insider politicians profit.
In trade the company gets breaks on legislation and tax payer money. If they do not cooperate, they can get federalized...taken over by the government for the greater good of "the people".

No politicians are responsible, the innocent are framed and blamed.

Income becomes based on need rather than ability. Those with more kids, sadder stories, better lies get paid more. Those inventing, making, and producing get kicked in the ass.

The government begins to rule with threat of punishment and imprisonment. Those who refuse to comply and continue working go to jail.

Basically, a lot of what is happening today or going to happen soon.

If the brightest, hardest working, and doers among society "quit". And those with key companies and integrity, destroy them. And those with skills, knowledge, and ability quit contributing. Then those in power have power over nothing.

In the book they are able to basically "disappear" and go to a hidden location where the best and brightest start over again...from scratch.

While, we can't hide very well in today's world, a drop-out movement of those who make things go may become the solution. The biggest strike ever by those that really matter. How to pull this off, I have no idea.

Linesmen quit putting up powerlines.

Manufacturing employees quit working.

Engineers quit solving problems.

Farm workers quit Farming.

Police quite policing.

Let the rich, powerful, and political keep the lights on, power flowing, food coming, and manufacturing working.

Many blue collar unions are surprisingly democrat for this very reason. Control and prevention of uprising. Fool them onto the communist-democrat side of things and they won't walk so easily.
