But no we will be in a crowded restaurant and everything is more or less quiet and he has to fully replicate every single sound in his story for a full 2 - 4 seconds at full volume. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 72300975 He has no idea how awkward that is, everyone is staring, it gets dead quiet and I'm just like wow please finish this story. We're both grown men in our 30s. But everything is just WOOOOO and WEEEEEE and AAAAAAHHHHHHH with him. And loud, mind you. Worst of all he makes the most insane, exaggerated face looking right at me while he's doing it, as if he's trying to piss me off. I'm sorry maybe it's just my own neuro atypical brain that pisses me off so much about it but I am really at my wits end with our friendship at this point. sounds funny, def not something to get uptight about |

I can’t stand it when people act like this.. one thing when we were kids but in 30s cmon. Also adults are acting more and more chimdish. I’m convinced not having families at a normal age and reproducing is making people mentally stunted and juvenile. |

It's jarring dude. I'm sorry. Ok maybe it's my own fault but other people take notice. And often. |

I talk with my hands and face too. But I'm sicilian so that might be part of it. For me it's passion and wanting to engage you. But I definitely don't make all the sound effects and be loud about it. That's hilarious |

It's weird dude. Maybe it's my fault but it's like you begin to lose touch with reality. I literally can't even follow the story if its long enough with enough "sound worthy" elements he has to replicate for me. And when you tell him hey mate, you're being loud haha all casual like he'll act offended and shut down like I'm the bad guy. I dont know dude. It's not that I don't want to hear him talk I just wish he actually would for once without all the noise. I know what crap sounds like I don't need a recreation of it every single moment so I don't forget |

Your friend can't read the room and probably is lacking in either the empathy department, or has some social/emotional short comings. Maybe even mental illness. Kinda like my coworker helping me yesterday (HVAC, we were in a customer's house) with very very religious clients. Dude burned himself with his own torch and goes "God damnit!!" Yeah I'm sure they're going to call us back buddy. Because you couldn't turn off your fucking lizard brain and keep your shit cool, probably lost a customer for life. I'm sure he didn't even realize it. And honestly, what got me through being embarrassed about it was knowing I didn't do it. Growing up with a dad that has a mild form of social autism I had to go through situations with him in public a lot. The best thing you can do is try not to let that anger cloud your own judgement, and understand that is just how the person is. No amount of being mad is going to change that. Either stick it out, and remain friends, or don't put yourself into a situation where you are the one always compromised or feeling embarrassed, while the village idiot makes pew pew noises at Applebee's. |

Oh ya because you need airplane noises and whistles like the guy in police academy to tell a joke. |
