In shelters, you are concentrated with individuals who should probably be either in drug rehab or a mental institution. Not only do you have to worry about assault, or even rape, but you won't be able to map things on a logical scale. People might attack because the little voices told them you were a demon, and had to be stopped for the good of humanity. Or they might just think you look like the guy that raped them the month before. Most hopeless will refuse to stay in such places, because they are far more dangerous than being on the street, alone is. |

With a small foldable solar panel & power bank battery, besides food & water—you can be self-sufficient anywhere on the planet. Add a gooseneck bike trailer & you can move enough food & water to camp a few weeks between town visits. Tablet and/or slim, low-power laptop and you are set for entertainment & communication (how dare you "homeless" spending downtime on GLP!) :p Backpacking in general has evolved over a century, both expedition/military wise & as a hobby, obviously weight & portability is an obsession. BTW in Humboldt County NW California you can't find camp sized propane bottles & tourism/camping/parks is a major industry here—besides the homeless freezing or needing to cook food—starving them out or Chinese shipping issues? As for people crying you are in a vehicle, try living on a boat in a marina, besides marinas usually have hot shower/bathrooms in common buildings and in rural locations berth space can be as low as $100/mo. City colleges/swimming pools are another source for free showers. Hostels have low-cost bunk rooms & common room kitchen/showers while co-working office spaces are another form of base, like industrial building lofts. So many ways to avoid the landlord anchor around your neck—besides rest stops, RV parks or year-round campgrounds on state or federal land. RV living is an Internet genre at this point, some doing it in $500k RVs. Grooming jobs on racetracks or horse breeding farms give a residence & income. Frankly living on a boat has the greatest appeal with WW3 or zombie, blood vomiting plagues breaking out—bye bye... Last Edited by da kat on 05/08/2022 06:04 PM |

I'd try to park around police stations at night, but that's just my two cents. It's not your fault. |

Or even uber eats? And then get a more steady job and just stack away? And these days with wages as high as they are, it shouldn't take you much time to stack up a ton of money? Especially without rent expenses? I don't understand why you're homeless? In my case, it was the gangstalkers, that stuff is mind blowing. I don't understand why you're unable to just go get a place to stay versus being homeless? |

Quoting: Adjudicator :Radicals77: :truthbomb: :bumpity: Most casino games cannot be beaten in the long run. Blackjack maybe can, if you're very very good at counting cards. And it's hard work, your average edge per hand is a tiny fraction of a percent, so you have to play hundreds of hands, not make mistakes, and not look like you're counting cards. I saw a guy get thrown out of a casino for looking like he was counting cards. And he was making mistakes so he was $1200 down when they booted him. It wasn't me, it's a long story how I know this detail. In Vegas, where you can beat the house, they can throw you out of the casino whenever they like. In Atlantic City, where they cannot arbitrarily throw you out, they have so many decks in the shoe and shuffle so often you cannot beat the house regardless of skill. But I like the suggestion about the airline lounge. |

Quoting: pish Had a van, with a bed in back. Did laundry at laundromat, gym membership for a shower, and just ate cheap rotisserie chicken you find at supermarkets with a salad. Only downside is toilet issues...so if you can deal with that...you are golden to live the vanlife. Wow! What kind of friend are you that you let a friend live homeless? Seriously you couldn't even rent him your spare bedroom? The couch? Put a bed in your garage?! Only in America! |

AMA You need to get off of GLP and urgently get a roof over your head. You can do it... IF YOU WANT. Remember these words. HOW is he supposed to do it without a job or money?? Even with both, HOW is he supposed to do it when no one will rent you anything unless you meet all their impossible requirements. Ergo, no one will rent to him if he has no address to put in the application. Use your brain before you type insulting drivel!
