A shame since food is so expensive.... Quoting: Hot Dog Harry Just put some 10, 50, 100 dollars bills in random envelops. You can scratch your ass and then reward yourself the dopamine receptor with one of those envelopes. I hardly believe that you ever got more than you spent. |

User ID: 83108717 United States 05/09/2022 01:08 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I live in an extremely boring town. My favorite past times here are drinking, sleeping, eating and scratch off tickets. Quoting: Hot Dog Harry I've been playing the scratch off tickets here for years so I know the odds pretty well. They've changed. I used to spend ten dollars on 5 tickets and win $2, $5 and occasionally $10 and rarely $50 or $100. There would be times when you bought 5 tickets that you lost on all five. But recently, I lose on every single ticket. Every time. 5 in a row, nothing, every time. Here's my take on it. I think the Lotto mafia in NY knows time is short so they are trying to make as much money as possible before nobody is playing these games anymore. They've set the odds to all time lows. They know the shit will hit the fan soon. So why pay out, right? Just grab as much money until the lights go out. If true, that's scary. Time's almost up. I've had this conspiracy for a few years. Before the pandemic, going back like 5+ years I had noticed something was up with scratchers too. Well, the lottery system in general. Now, I live in VA so I can't say the same was true everywhere (although I'm sure it is the case) but years back I just so happen to reading something on the back of the ticket and I noticed at the bot tom of a small font-paragraph, a barcode and a signature. Typed below it, it read "Paula L. Otto. Executive Director" It blew my mind. I started thinking WTF ARE THE ODDS this woman gets to the position of executive director of the LOTTERY?! PAULA-LOTTO /PAYALOTTO /PAULA L. Otto?! she either changed her name, was literally born for this, or it's some fraudulent bs. Add to the situation they could easily siphon off as much as they want. They donate so much to public schools and they get it back in taxes....They write billions off. How would the public know what the true odds are. They could pay off oversight /inspections. Its addictive, lucrative, and flush with cash 24/7....smells like something that our government would get a hard on for. It'd be crazier to think that the lottery would be the ONLY multi billion dollar company that has:: 1.) No involvement in money laundering 2.) Moral ethics that outweigh the never-ending cash supply 3.) Products, much like heroin or cigarettes, they know is addictive and potentially hazardous so they change, or stop sales for the better good. 4.put people over profits 5. No stakeholder obligations or agendas to maximize profits at a loss to the consumer.. and like you were saying I agree... The win rate is so low its not possible that they are giving out what they claim, If who I am bothers you...good |

Some meth-head in a tiny town 30 miles from here won 70K on a scratcher from the only gas station within 100 miles. She spent most of it on bail for her meth-head boyfriend. The regular weekly lotteries here in Canada called "6/49" and LottoMax are outright fraud. There are no weekly winners, is just actors paid to pretend. Think about it. There are 3 multi-million dollar lotteries EVERY WEEK in Canada, 52 weeks per year, for decades. Where are all the millionaires??? They should be everywhere! Too be fair, most people dont tell others that they have won. Ir just males evwryone ask you for money, especially family. |

User ID: 80112478 United States 05/09/2022 03:14 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | You are exactly right. The state of VA has casinos popping up everywhere now, they are actually building them. Almost all the 7-11's and gas stations and bars have gambling, lots of online gambling. They are cashing in. The addicts will be numerous, many dependent on it, requiring no skill, burning money, it will take the last of the cash. Designed to take the last of the cash. No one will see that same 20 dollar bill again. Winnings will be on a card. Crash the economy. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 81365126 [link to www.youtube.com (secure)] Is that a guy or a girl singing? |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 76288549 United States 05/09/2022 03:17 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Maybe you're onto something! I haven't played any scratch off tickets lately, but I used to once in awhile. Our state doesn't sell scratch offs, but if I knew I was gonna be in the next state over, I'd go to the lottery site to check the odds to see which games I was interested in playing. Well, I just checked the site now to see what games they have to choose from. I just looked at two different $1 games. The odds of winning $1 are 1 in 6.45, meaning if I were to buy 7 tickets in a row I'm pretty much guaranteed to win $1! $1 back out of $7 spent, only 14% return on my money? That's crazy! I wouldn't waste my money on a game like that! In addition, the largest prize available is only $2,000! I'm used to seeing games where your odds of winning were like 1 in 3 or something like that so I could get by with buying 3 to maybe 4 tickets and still walk away with something. One other thing, the site used to say how many prizes were yet to be claimed in each game, so if I saw that all or most of the big prizes had already been claimed in a particular game, I'd spend money on a different game that had lots of big prizes still out there. I don't see that on the site anymore! Either both of those games I checked are new and they haven't had any winners at all, or they just quit reporting on them. Why spend $7 on a game when there's not even a chance of winning $2,000 since all of the big prizes have already been claimed? I'll do some more checking. Maybe that information is still hidden somewhere on the site. The thing is, I don't plan on making a trip to buy any tickets anytime soon. Still, I'd like to see if the odds of winning anything are that poor on all the games or just the 2 I've looked at. But if you don't already, check your state lottery sites before buying any tickets. That information, the odds of winning and the number of big prizes still out there, could improve your odds of winning, even if is just by a little bit! |

There should be tens of thousands of lotto millionaires right now. Yet I haven't heard from any but that "$5 million Bucks!!" guy, Curtis Sharpe, from 1985. Anonymous Coward User ID: 83158272 United States 05/09/2022 03:24 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I’ve seen the same in PA. However, I’ve had my own theory. They are pushing hard state lotto arcade/slot machines right now. Pizza places, grocery stores, and all kinds of other places have them now and they are bringing in huge money both from the businesses and the players. A bunch of bars and restaurants have these weird virtual horse and car races too that are linked to the state lotto as well. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 34855329 We buy scratch offs for birthdays and other things all the time and no one hits anymore. I think the decrease in the scratch offs is to drive more people virtual. They can then phase out the physical scratch offs and go fully virtual (all profit) and no one will complain because they were weaned off of them and won’t care. Not to mention they want to go paperless at every turn for bills and creating ways to pay that don’t require paper checks. Now they want paperless gambling too! |
