Anonymous Coward User ID: 76288549 United States 05/09/2022 03:49 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I did find where they list the number of prizes remaining for each game, so at least that's still there. AND you're still pretty much guaranteed to win a prize with the purchase of just 3 or 4 tickets. At least that's what I found with that one $10 game I checked out. I was looking at the odds of winning the smallest prizes when I first checked. I should've been looking to see what the overall chance of winning was. For example, one $10 game shows a 1 in 6.25 chance of getting your $10 back, but at the very bottom it says there's a 1 in 3.18 overall chance of winning. So then, you should still be able to win a prize by buying 4 tickets. Maybe it's not so bad if the chance of winning the smaller prize isn't so good since that gives you a better chance at winning one of the bigger prizes, depending on how many of those bigger prizes are still available to be won that is! If you're not winning anything at all, you're luck just may have run out for now! I wouldn't quit playing entirely though since you never know when your luck might change! If you haven't been checking out your state lottery site before buying your scratch-off tickets, getting into that habit just might tip the odds a bit more in your favor. |

Lol they only won a $50 dollar prize, a few $25 dollar prizes and some free tickets....it was enough of a validation for me to know too never waste my money playing that bs ever again! :adjmeme: :thelaw: |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 76487913 If someone won they look back to make sure that person was the actual one who purchased the ticket. There was a story where a woman won from a vending machine lotto ticket dispenser and they looked back and saw that her kid pressed the buttons and denied her the funds. I think that black ops/ organized crime dispense winners to certain areas, usually to bag men. But think they are also paranoid of the wrong people accidentally winning. With their level of surveillance and paranoia its possible that they are only sending losing scratch off rolls to your area now that they know you are playing. I just liked the easy 10, 25, 50 or 100 dollar wins. But lately there's no winning at all. Not even 2 bucks. That's an indicator of something coming... My ex is a gambling addict, seen her bet the rent several times, hence the ex part anyways, her go to is always scratchers, seen her hit here and there but this last year, 6months or so at least, she got shit and is facing eviction again OP, I think you're on to something |

My favorite past times here are drinking, sleeping, eating and scratch off tickets. Quoting: Hot Dog Harry I've been playing the scratch off tickets here for years so I know the odds pretty well. They've changed. I used to spend ten dollars on 5 tickets and win $2, $5 and occasionally $10 and rarely $50 or $100. There would be times when you bought 5 tickets that you lost on all five. But recently, I lose on every single ticket. Every time. 5 in a row, nothing, every time. Here's my take on it. I think the Lotto mafia in NY knows time is short so they are trying to make as much money as possible before nobody is playing these games anymore. They've set the odds to all time lows. They know the shit will hit the fan soon. So why pay out, right? Just grab as much money until the lights go out. If true, that's scary. Time's almost up. I live in the UK and i agree. I won for the first time in about 20 cards yesterday and it was a fiver off of 2 x 2 pound cards, which used to be great. |

The state with the absolute highest lottery payout in 2018 was Idaho, which has an impressive payout of 78.5% of ticket money going toward prizes. I'll see if I can locate an actual listing of all the states so you can see how your state compares to the rest. |

Or, you could be right. The issue I have with lotto (or whatever it's called now in the UK) is who exactly is doing the adjudication? You need a level of trust that I simply do not have. No lotto for me. Ps. Besides the hideous projects they invest in. Probably more insider-trading and cream-licking. Gross! |

The Euro states there is a 1 in 13 chance of winning a prize, There are 53 weeks in the year which means there are 106 draws per year (2 per week). So I should get an avg of 16 prizes in 24 months, I got 1 prize in £3.30 22 months. I have been thinking the same lately, its rigged. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 78613129 United States 05/09/2022 07:09 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I bought whole stacks or rolls of tickets before. Some have more winners. Some less. I played approx $8400 in a week and got no big prizes over $100, but the tickets were on a buy 1 get 1 free so I was playing half price odds. Walked away with $10,300 paid in $8400 would have been $16800 without half price BOGO for a net loss of $6500. Only came out ahead because of BOGO. But with almost 5000 tickets scratched I was hoping for a big prize. Nope. Some entire rolls were big duds. They can't all be winners. The guy wasn't supposed to sell me rolls (Indian guy) but social engineering works wonders. So it's not easy even when you have 'inside help'. The people selling the tickets can't claim them, their friends and family are critically examined if they win. There's maybe some truth to op story. |

I think in most states you pay a lot less in property taxes if its empty and not generating revenue. They need to fund massive budgets. My guess is its being funneled to that. |
