Of course, I mean real cigars--not the drug store flavored shit. There are also multiple brands that are nothing but trash tobacco (like cigarettes) with a sort of decent wrapper on it--still garbage. I almost never pay more than 2.50 a stick--gotta buy smart if you're gonna keep the doctor away. I'm 66 years old and am in good shape--actually, damn good shape. If not for my grey hair I could be 46 years old. Real tobacco is good for you--government be damned. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 34577285 United States 05/21/2022 06:50 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I smoke RYO pipe tobacco rolled in papers. and I smoke them like a cigar. I roll them by hand , and I dont use any device or anything.. but if you're just starting out I would recommend them , but not those expensive machine ones.. just the simple ones that cost less than 10 dollars or around there. I dont do actual cigars though because I can't know what type of glues they use for them ,and I like bundled cigars with no bands or anything... |

I found a good "organic" RYO pipe tobacco... It's interesting. It's a new dimension of tobacco I hadnt thought about before.. pretty soon they'll tax this as well. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 34577285 United States 05/21/2022 06:56 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | well, a lot of people seem to use RYO pipe tobacco for cigarettes but I wouldn't really recommend them really as the real thing. If you want the real thing then just get American Spirit RYO, and do that. I was doing American Spirits for as long as I can remember so I know what good additive free tobacco is... |

When I began , I didn't really think there would be additive free pipe tobacco. The quality isn't as good though , look for stems and or other foreign objects that might be in there? Thankfully, I found a blend that doesn't have that stuff. but stems yeah, and especially flattened stems. Which might confuse you.. So yeah when I began , I thought I wouldn't find additive free pipe tobacco... but there is.. but the reason why it doesn't smoke like a cigarette seems to be that it is more alkaline ... so there is some kind of process they do for cigarette tobacco to make it less alkaline... |

I dont really know or even get what that process is, or what separates it from pipe tobacco.. because all I know is when I prepare the same leaf from whole leaf, I can make it perfectly inhalable for a cigarette... it might be not as aged or whatever, but it still can be inhalable as a cigarette. Maybe cleaning it with water like I do does it, and maybe for pipe tobacco they dont really do it, or as much, like they do for cigarettes... I dont know. But they are still supposed to clean it somehow.... |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 34577285 United States 05/21/2022 07:34 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | actually I might get a clay pipe soon also. those RYO pipe tobaccos probably smoke very good in them. Once you know a good one I would stick to that one and smoke only that one in a pipe or something... until I know what else can be smoked in that pipe. because you dont want to ruin a good pipe. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 34577285 United States 05/25/2022 04:47 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | wow. I just learned that the wider the tip, in making these RYO pipe tobaccos... the more wider the distribution of mouthfeel it seems... Because I basically have to learn when to stop smoking before I burn my tongue too much... or before there is uneven tongue bite or something where one side burns more than the other. Well , the Wide tips allowed me to feel more even distribution of tongue bite. so that I dont have to keep smoking past the point it gets too strong. Interesting... also the cotton tips (not filters), since they're white... makes me visualize them becoming darker and darker as they are smoked so that I don't want smoke it too hot. But yeah it's a skill, learning how to smoke these RYO pipe tobaccos... and to smoke them also, like a pipe and not burn your tongue... because it's a different way of smoking them. it's not inhaling, and it also isn't a cigar, or if anything it's a small thin cigar so it seems easier to burn the tongue by smoking it too hot.... anyways, and also, one has to learn that basically the "hit" youre getting Is the tongue bite... and not to smoke too much past that point where it burns too much. because a little tongue bite might be desirable. I wake up now with a sore tip of the tongue from so much tongue bite... but I get used to it. |

I saw one wrap cord around the stem so they can clench it, but you can't be a wet smoker.. |

It is tongue bite but you also want to get it all over like in the sinuses and upper palate or behind it and such, like a spicy feeling... underneath the tongue also.... like you can probably do like some kind of tongue mudra or something with it. Khechari or some shit. who knows.lol jk |
