Gravitas:Taiwan "surrounded" by Chinese warships & warplanes

maybe its time for Taiwan to stop calling itself the Republic of China and claiming to own all of China and using the same flag as the people the Chinese Communists fought against in the Chinese Civil War?

USA wouldn't like it if there was some island nearby that called itself the Confederate States of America and claimed to own all of the USA. Especially if it was the same group of people that fought in the American Civil War, same flag, and so on.

Taiwan is a target because of our ties with them... Taiwan is the first physical strike against the USA

May and October are the best weather months for a cross Straits invasion of Taiwan.

The Straits generally have terrible weather on a regular basis so when planning ahead those are the only two months where the weather is generally good for any extended period of time.

Until the Ukraine thing came up Xi was probably planning for May or October this year, before he is up for re-election later in the fall (for an unprecedented 3rd term, which some in the party do NOT agree with which is why he probably felt a need to PROVE he should get a 3rd term). Remember Xi has said several times that he will NOT leave the Taiwan issue to his successor. He said he will "solve" it BEFORE he leaves office.

With Ukraine dominating the news, plus their lockdowns, the normal news flow from China is cut off so it would be hard for those of us without access to satellite imagery to see if China was moving the pieces into position for an invasion, but the timing is certainly right for something to happen in this month.

For various reasons I long ago gave a date of May 14 or later IF they were going to move this month.

remember China and Russia claim to be best friends forever with there recent alliance. so Russia wanted to invade Ukraine and take over in a week. China said okay you can do it but you have to wait until after the olympix coz we is best friends forever and you can't wreck our big olympix party. so Russia waited and the snow melted and Ukraine turned to mud and the invasion pretty much stopped stuck in the mud. it was supposed to be over before april. leaving plenty of time for a may invasion of Taiwan.

now China has seen what happened to Russia with sanctions and failed invasion. maybe they rethink????
