there was a time not to long ago when babies started rice cereal at 6 weeks (then on to the other cereals) followed by baby food and table food at around 6 months....now days babies aren't even allowed to look cross eyed at any kind of solid food or cereal for a year. It's a racket and everyone follows along because they said so. The formula floating around the internet is from 1960's, but most won't even consider it because "they" said not to.
