This applies to Volcanoes.If more quake relieves the pressure then why we got six pointers or moderate quakes in huge numbers almost every day.That means pressure is enourmous .One theory says that strong deep quakes often result in shallow bigger quakes.Argentina quake was deep and strong.

This is not true, this has NEVER been true - Gah, I hate when this crap starts.

Small quates, or even relatively large quakes, do NOT "relieve pressure" and they make NO difference to the possibility of larger quake, ESPECIALLY when we're talking about subduction or slip-strike activity.

Look up how magnitude works. You would need to have MANY thousands or even hundreds of thousands of smaller quakes to relieve the potential of one M8 quake, and often the smaller quakes are what will PRECIPITATE bigger quakes - they're called foreshocks for a reason. A small quake at JUST the right spot could cause the spot where plates are locked together to release, thus causing a megathrust of devastation proportions.

So no, that thinking is NOT backwards.

This is essentially correct - great way to put it.

Slightly different as it applies to volcanics - my rant was purely about earthquakes and tectonics - but similar principles apply. Most volcanic quakes are caused by magma moving, not plates - they're DEEP, affecting pressure flows upward so that magma starts to dome and emerge, causing the shakesies.
