If Earth is flat ...
Then why on the northern hemisphere you see northern stars and in the southern you see different.

Please answer me you clever minds.

Re: If Earth is flat ...
Because your vision isn't infinite? ffs...

Here's an example:

Imagine going inside a building with a very large area (like the size of a stadium), but with a very low ceiling.
Your friend is on the opposite side of the building and looks up at the ceiling and describes it to you.
Then you look up at the ceiling, on the other side of the building, and describe what you see on the building.

Do you honestly think you and your friend are going to be looking at the same features on the ceiling?

Would you be able to see the features he's looking at without walking over to where he is?

Tides. Seasons. Night and day.

Coriolis - are you going to tell all the snipers on the planet that they can disregard this and forget what the mathematicians (dealing with naval ballistics originally) taught every single one of them? Along with compensating for the curvature of the Earth's surface? If it was simple any hick could do it.

Observations proving the swirling plugholes differ with the hemispheres? 20 yards distant from each other?

Hadley cells, hemispherically opposed?

Moon phases. Lunar and Solar eclipses.

Libration. Lunar libration. Precession of the Equinoxes. Chandler wobble.

Seasonal tides. Oblate sphere. Geoid. Microwave sounding. High, low and no tides.

The above are physical examples but we have astrologies, mythologies and folklore covering all this.

So much effort needed to fake a ball. Occam's razor and search engines are your friends.

Finally, Tesla knew the Earth was a ball. A lot of his work depended on it. We all like Tesla. Was Tesla a ball tard?

Re: If Earth is flat ...
Jean Picard.

No. Not that one.

Jean Picard was smart and lucky. He knew that water 'found it's own level' so a canal was a useful measure of gradient(-less-ness) and distance.

As the first human to use triangulation to measure this, his accuracy was astounding considering that, at the time, no-one knew the Earth was an oblate sphere and a geoid to boot.

The luck bit? He measured at one of the 'best' meridians for determining the 'size' of 1 degree of Latitude. Not perfect, but with a 0.44% error. Mostly explained by his distance from the exact half-way point between a Pole and the Equator.

Not one at 45 degrees up, or down, but the one that actually bisects the oblate sphere. @45.08 degrees.

As an aside- the Romans knew of this effect. Because of the value of salt, with which they paid Centurions for their days march, they needed exact measurements because they deduced that the Latitudes varied in 'height' as you went 'up ' or 'down' the world. They achieved this by altering the circumference of their pedometers according to the latitude in which they would be used. You don't get to rule the civilized world by being stupid.

Neolithic man knew the Earth was round. Those megaliths didn't plant and align themselves. Each 'ancient' civilization had their own, unique offset to accommodate the spherical world they knew they existed upon.

I agree.

Also, the amount of gravity that would be necessary to keep water (say the Pacific Ocean) on a spinning ball/globe woyld be so great, that life/humans wouldn't be able to get up and walk around, lol.

That's also speculation. No hard proof of what is above us, but it's not what NASA says.

When you say things like "dome" people will think of something man-made. It could some sort of unknowable Divine energy... THING! Not glass, anyway, glass would have collapsed or gone opaque long ago. Ever see ancient glass? it's no transparent.

Bible speaks of doors and windows in the Firmament. Maybe they open up when shit is about to go down, ie. End Times.

The phrase is in commas for that very reason.

Water finds it's own level on the planet. It seems 'flatter' when constrained in a canal. Not so much at sea.

There are rather large differences (attributed to undersea elemental densities varying - granite, silica, oil-bearing, porous rock etc) between the height above 'sea level' in the waters off Iceland and those off the West coast of India.

A hundred meters (ish) offset - not insignificant variations (hence 'the Geoid')

No. Looking long distances becomes more and more opaque the further you try to look with a telescope. Think of looking through thousands of panes of glass or through water. You can see clearer with infrared cameras, though and those have helped immensely in proving that the ocean is level all over the Earth.
