Hi y'all, just wanted to let you know that if you have a central ac/heat unit that goes out, you might want to consider window units.

When our upstairs central unit went out, we were going to replace it with the same type but then I started looking at window units. We ended up buying 1 10,000 BTU and 2 8000 Btu. All 3 have heat strips which work great during the winter.

Our electric bill has gone from almost $400/month to $165/month - we're saving over $200/month! This has been for the past 9 months. The upstairs window ac's run pretty much constantly too. This is for a 4200 sq ft house.
