This is stuff you've been using to give to your youngest and most vulnerable as sustenance through the most important time of their lives: Surely you know what's in it and how it is made, right?

Frankly I don't understand what all the fuss is about. In my opinion the baby formula shortages are possibly the best thing that could happen for babies. Commercial baby formulas are crap, potentially poisonous. I never did trust what was in those commercial baby formulas, especially since the dawn of GMOs. Much better for babies are the homemade baby formulas. Even better is to be breast fed.

In my day, more commonly babies were breast fed, and when that wasn't possible or no longer necessary babies were given farm fresh dairy milk that was delivered to our doors straight from the farm. It was possible to obtain raw milk from cows and goats.

It is shocking to me how many mothers feed that stuff to their babies.

I thought this had changed 40 years ago. When I had babies I was part of a large group of mothers who exclusively breastfed. We did not have lactation experts in the hospital. The nurses just gave us our babies and got out of our way.

The babies all latched. Our babies were all beautiful and happy. I just can't get my head around all these formula babies today.

We watched our diets and ate cleanly. I remember eating a lot because that is when you are eating for two.

I know there are circumstances where mothers might have some difficulties but we just worked through all of them. It was the best.

Both my daughters would not take a rubber nipple or a pacifier. It was mommy or nothing.

What has changed in the world? I always felt that if I could not breastfeed a baby I would not have it. I don't trust corporate food producers and I never had.

Because their doctors are saying homemade is dangerous for babies.

So now we know that even the obstetricians are in the pocket of big pharma.

I'm almost having deja vu, all this fuss about baby formula shortages is reminding me of all the fuss about the schools being closed during the pandemic.

There are great benefits to babies and children by shutting down commercial baby formula, government schools, and required childhood vaccinations, the benefits of which are incalculable. Finally a generation of healthy children will be possible.

Yesterday I posted an old fashioned recipe for baby formula on Facebook.
I was charged with posting something "out of context."An old recipe from a 1960 magazine.
Their fact checkers found that- Parents should never make their own baby food.
They said they moved my post down lower in the news feed to keep people from being misinformed. I guess they would prefer babies to become dehydrated and malnourished. I can remember my mother making my sisters formula.

Once a mom has decided to use formula, you can't just magically start lactating again. Not to mention some babies have special needs or disabilities and either can't breast feed or need special formula.

As stated, your judgmental bullshit does nothing to help those babies currently on formula. After a point in time, you cannot go back to breast feeding if already using formula. Your milk dries up.

Also, some moms have never been able to breast feed. Maybe problems with baby or insufficient milk supply. It's why humanity has used wet nurses for all of human history you idiot.

Have some fucking empathy and compassion.

As a mom who breast fed my kids, I'm shocked at the lack of understanding some have on the subject. It's not easy.

Is there a shortage of evaporated milk too? Couldn't afford all of that expensive formula years ago, so my parents used Carnation evaporated milk.

Oh, and an answer to those posters saying to just breastfeed, it takes 2 people working now-a-days just to get by. Only those who are really well-off can afford the luxury of staying home to raise their kids.

Go on Amazon, Canada has no shortage. Only in the USA.
