Easy to stereotype, kinda like the FBI does with various kinds of people. I asked a new hire today if he had tats, nice clean cut kid. He didn't. |

I love the female body as it is, and any attempt at "artistic improvement" only ruins it. On the other hand I couldn't care less about tattoos on men! Sure, it makes them look like criminals, but it's not like I care. When I was young I sang in a metal band. All of the guys in the band had long hair, were tatted all over, and dressed in black with demon prints. Because that's the "uniform" for a metal head. But I had a buzz cut, no tats, and wore a colorful sweater my GF knitted for me. I must have looked completely out of place, but I was still as much a part of the band as the rest. And even though the other guys looked like criminals, they were the sweetest bunch! Very kind and considerate people. Respectful to the point of meekness. So I wouldn't say people with tattoos are "trash". My only opinion in the matter is that women ruin their looks by getting tattoos, and it's a damn shame! To me, a tattoo on a woman looks like graffiti on Mona Lisa. |

It's like someone who cares too much what others think and tries too hard to look cool and follows trends like a dumb sheep. That's just a real dealbreaker for me. |

Those who went so far as to get full body and facial tattoos will really have it hard. They might even become social outcasts. Quoting: Peepaws I see you have some abusive post violations you obviously must cuss people out or threaten people sometimes. I don’t know about social outcasts (honestly, they already are in the eye of many who just have the good sense to keep their mouth shut and go on about their business), but Peepaws has made an excellent point about one thing - there will be a booming job opportunity in the cosmetic medical field for removal of tattoos. I’ve never seen a tattoo on someone that brought me joy. more often than not, most of them speak of a broken time in a person’s life. WW2 veterans were my first encounter with them, then prison tattoos - both of those just make me wince for what those poor people have seen, then… people became more brazen and we saw it become a “basic b***h” uniform (tramp stamp?). I know I’m going to get hated on for my opinion, but it’s just that, and unless someone brings up the debate, I’ll just keep it to myself and even then, I usually just stay silent. Like it or lump it, right or not - people WILL judge you, consciously or not. It just lumps people into a different class and “it ain’t good”. I am a hard worker, IAMIAM. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 80877693 However, I do know someone who does tatoos for amputees and women who have had mastectomies and such. In that case, their wounds are clearly visible, and adding a bit of decoration can make them feel more confident or it can be used to add humor, so that other people feel more comfortable interacting with them. So, are tattoos always a negative thing? No. "Feel More Confident?" Confident in what? How do you know this? You can find vids of people talking about this form of "therapy". For a lot of people who have been disfigured, it's not them who are uncomfortable...it's other people. They end up getting socially avoided, which leads to isolation. So, turning a stumpy arm or leg into a wildly colored shark head is definitely an ice breaker. |

Quoting: Blue Eyed Goddess My husband doesn't have any, and I never found men with them attractive. People are free to get tattoos if they like, and some people like tattoos, but they're not my thing. I posted this yesterday. I just want to add that anyone considering getting tattoos should be aware of the health risks of tattoos. As well as how costly and hard it can be to get tattoos removed, should you decide you don't like them at some point. Tattoo removal tends to cost many thousands of dollars, and even then usually it doesn't completely remove the tattoos. There's also high risk of scarring and infection. It also takes quite a few sessions, usually several weeks in between to remove them. Here's a site that has some information about tattoo removal. There are serious health risks tattoos posts too. As some said on here mercury poisoning and ink poisoning. Skin infection, bacterial infection, hepatitis, and cancer are done of the other health issues tattoos can cause. Most, not all, but most people find tattoos to be a turn off too. I'm not trying to dictate what people should or shouldn't do. Nor am I trying to judge or out people down. Like I said people are free to get tattoos, atas many as they want, but you should take into consideration what you're potentially getting yourself into by getting tattoos. |
