Anonymous Coward User ID: 69067029 Canada 05/16/2022 04:53 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | That would be because no one gives AF, OP! Who uses "oil" to heat your place? A/c heater unit uses no oil, FCOL! Just electric. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 82740278 There's your sign! Electric..Thats probably the only thing worse than oil. If you heat with total electric (baseboard) even in an energy star home. You price per kilowatt hour is going to skyrocket. He thinks its great because chahinks get electricity 'for free'. Which is fine, until your caring government decides you don't need quite so much anymore and shuts your power off. AJ always talked about the "Evils of Smart Thermostats" and how they could be used by the Govt to shut your Heat off.. (AJ right again) Anytime someone expresses concern over potential government tyranny they are often proved to be correct. |

Quoting: Don Draper from Nantucket I have a 4 bedroom home on 3 acres in a beautiful rural area and use heating oil. Still not a concern for most. Maybe upgrade to something else. Instead of complaining. That is all this place has become, whiners lmao The vast majority of people in rural new england use home heating oil because we're quite far from the country's propane sources. 83% of all heating oil is consumed in the northeast. It's a very densely populated area and most either use oil or firewood. It's a big concern for everyone in that region of the world. There you go. The northeast. Anonymous Coward User ID: 79732028 United States 05/16/2022 07:24 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Local diesel fuel at the T/A: $6.36/gal [link to www.ta-petro.com (secure)] No. 2 & diesel are the same. Diesel is dyed for tax identification purposes. Fun fact: The majority of New England's fuel needs and lumber are supplied by a single, privately-owned family...in Canada. The Irving's. Not fun, but an absolute fact nonetheless: No. 2 fuel is essential to the needs of every single person in this country. The entire transportation industry including shipping relies upon it. The construction industry relies upon it. The military relies upon it. Et al. And to circle back on home heating, if you rely on propane, you might consider what the actual origin is of that gas, as it is certainly not naturally occurring. |
