I got it in early April, # 2 heating oil.$5.01 a gallon. I got it again last week and it was $6.01 a gallon. Unbelievable! I am hoping the warmer weather now will hold me over for a while. I am on Long Island.

Why is there even a difference in price between dyed ag diesel and heating oil? I thought they were essentially the same thing.

I use #1 heating oil for my stove. Diesel is #2,dyed red for ag use only=tax break .

In France as well, food price is more and more expensive, with some produce having +13% increase, or ones that continue to have content / weiht been reduced, at ame price.

About oil, it's possible to cook with almost no oil, just few drop scattered with kitchen towel as an exemple,on non adhesive cooking devices, i just cook separately vegetables, on large stove, in jut one layer, to precook, and then mix everything in another stove, to continue sloly thecok to have crisp or normal vegetable texture epending of the mood.


There is also Water cooking methode, vapor cooking oven cooking...

Only problem is for frying, here you have large ammount of oil required :(

No. 2 & diesel are the same. Diesel is dyed for tax identification purposes. Fun fact: The majority of New England's fuel needs and lumber are supplied by a single, privately-owned family...in Canada. The Irving's.

Not fun, but an absolute fact nonetheless: No. 2 fuel is essential to the needs of every single person in this country. The entire transportation industry including shipping relies upon it. The construction industry relies upon it. The military relies upon it. Et al. And to circle back on home heating, if you rely on propane, you might consider what the actual origin is of that gas, as it is certainly not naturally occurring.
