Quoting: ArmedonLSD I hate anything pre TNG era I just want a post dominion war star trek. I wouldn't care about the quality of effects just as long as it has that ds9 feel. Fuck, make a show about the maquis getting wiped out, or a ferengri casino. Anyone who hasn't watched should try lower decks. Best star trek in 20 years "pre"? or "post"? I hate any series pre TNG with the exception of half the TOS movies. Enterprise- nah hate it Discovery, very much although I hear better things about the last 2 seasons I have been hearing great stuff about strange new worlds so I will give it a shot. Did you watch lower decks. I know it's a cartoon but I love it! Mass genocide is the most exhausting activity one can engage in, outside of soccer - Dogma (1999) |

If that basic concept offends, perhaps Star Trek is not for you. :) Last Edited by JustmeTX on 05/17/2022 04:18 PM Justme |

Characters are very likeable…. I’m even rooting for some wokeness now with maybe a steamy relationship breaking out between the security officer and number 1…. Yummy!! |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78121322 They are so woke that I'll neve watch that show ever again. No. Just Christopher Pike as the Captain, a very Young Uhura. A vulcan guy that was pretty spocky. Classic type of mission. I was just happy to see a show that looks like it will respect the original Rodenberry vision. The first episode was very good I thought. But don't watch it if you are scarred for life. :) Woke ass memberberries. Come on and take a free ride. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 84531395 United States 09/24/2023 01:03 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I don't think it's fair to call the OP a shill, I really doubt he's getting paid or is in any way connected to the production or the people that were involved in making this show. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 82534179 Poor taste? Certainly Low standards? without a doubt. But throwing the shill thing around is just low effort. Hey, after suffering with crappy Star Trek or no Star Trek for the last 50 years, give me a half way decent version and I feel I must celebrate! :) I'm of the opinion DS9 is the best.. but even if not I'm sure I'd call it or TNG crappy lol. I liked TNG when it was originally aired, but after watching it for the last 30 effing years, I have grown to pretty much not like it. ANd DS9 I could never even watch 1 episode. The basic premise reminded me of a gas station in space. No exploring. Just a gas station. And the Ferengi were different than in TNG. A little continuity would be nice. If you lost the costumes, make up a new alien. Some Gorns running a bar might be interesting. And that guy made of silly putty. Gack! Just so awful. :) Before this, that McFarlane show was actually not bad I thought. DId it get cancelled? The Orville. Had to think for a second to remember the name. The horny green jello engineer was pretty cool. And having an Ex wife as #1 . Seth must be one huge trek fan. Didn't Commander Riker fall in love with Non Cisgender? |

Quoting: Wild Edibles…… I really like strange new worlds Next Generation and Deep Space Nine are good. But if you didn't watch much past the first season you might have a different impression especially with TNG. Trek has always had some problems when the show starts out at least of the ones I've watched. On that note I have not seen SNW yet. But I've heard good things about it as well as some people who've said to give lower decks a try. |
