So if American Jam is called jelly, what is American jelly called?

Most aren't very precise over here...

the general "rule" is;

Jam has seeds and or pulp
Jelly has none of either


raspberry jam (seeds and pulp)
strawberry jam (seed and pulp)
apricot jam (pulp, no seeds)

grape jelly (no seeds or pulp)
apple jelly (no seeds or pulp)

What about quince jelly? So naturally high in pectin, no meed to add pectin or gelatin to it for it to set/firm up. Is there no quince jelly in the UK?

Me too… we had only one tv channel in my Amazon rainforest town… sometimes we didn’t have signal for weeks.

My granddaddy had a radio collection, he liked listing like 5 radio stations at the same time… he wanted to have all versions of the same story… when his radios started acting up I was the one who fixed them… tbh, I don’t know how I fixed them, i was just a little girl.

My friends and I used to play in the streets, sometimes until midnight.

We had rotary phones too, just six digit phone numbers.

No cells phones, no texts… we use to “connect” through notes, love letters, and romantic cards. I remember this special place were all boys and girls used to buy little cards -credit cards like- with cute pics or drawings and romantics quotes on it… Christmas was the best excuse for giving those little cards to our crushes.

My hobbies were climbing trees, chasing my uncle’s roosters, planting flowers, and making dresses for my dolls.


What I would do to go back in time… I want to be a little girl again… I want to see my granddaddy, this time I would kiss him a thousand times more…this time I would hug him for hours and ask him to please not let me go … this time I would promise him to obey every single thing he tells me, specially staying away from my husband… I miss you, granddaddy!

All my boys play musical instruments, the only one who don’t play guitar yet it’s my little boy… they love music.
