I have never understood this idea that aliens could or would challenge religion at all.

In my view even if aliens are actually real even that doesn't pose a real challenge for religion.

Maybe I'm just weird and not seeing it because I'm not a believer so I don't understand how that would challenge religion?

But to me even hardcore smoking gun proof of aliens would have no bearing on whether even Christianity was true or not because the churches could have been wrong in their interpretation that we are unique and what this was all made for.

They're allowed to be wrong on something even that big without the religion being untrue.

I don't for a second believe that legit aliens showing up would really affect the faithful.

Exactly. God could even have more humans or other species with other tasks and jobs all through the UNiverse. PErhaps other planets didn't deviate from the plan like we did.
