They were raised by a lot of psychologically damaged people who were raised by another bunch of damaged people that couldn't even talk about it due to fear of being labeled a coward. This would explain why there are so many stories of "Grandad wouldn't ever talk about the war" I'll also add that even the Knights templar wrote about it to some extent. Along the lines of don't expect to be the same person once you've experienced combat. |
