If my government was responsible it means whoever is running the show here is not pro-UK. Obama obviously was not a fan of the UK so what sense would it make trying to prevent the person diametrically opposed to him from getting elected? While also running the risk of incurring Trump's wrath should he win. There was nothing but risk involved with no potential gain, other than Hillary and most probably war with Russia soon after. If we were backing Hillary for a potential Russian war I suspect that is due to Russia using chemical weapons in the UK. That can't have made many politicians happy and would explain Britians over the top help for Ukraine.
