Shingles Vaccine, anyone skeptical of this?

Same here. I’m not a big fan of vaccines in general but I’m considering the shingles shot.

I will never trust any vaccine again ever.

Shingles as a kid? I didn't know that was possible.

I had it once about 2 yr ago, it was brutal, but I was stressed to the nines at the time.

I've lost all faith in the medical field. I wouldn't trust any type of vaxx especially when they are hell bent on everyone being vaxxed for covid.
Shingles is very painful and years ago they did develop a vaccine that's probably safe to get. Just not for me.

Why don't you just catch chicken pox?

Not saying this is typical but someone I know got Guillain Barre syndrome within 24 hours of the shingles vax combined with flue shot. Started with barely being able to lift his arm and ended up completely paralyzed for several weeks. He was lucky in that he has for the most part recovered cause a lot of people stay fucked forever.

I am also suspicious of the shingles vaccine, never got it and never will. That being said, I did get shingles four years ago, and YIKES. It was pure hell. It took me about two days before I realized what it was. By then I couldn't drive myself to a doctor. I ordered a bunch of anti viral herbs online but by the time they arrived it was in full manifestation, and it took two weeks of suffering until it was gone.

BUT! There is an upside to the story. While I was searching for information about what remedies might exist, I came upon several reports that there is an over the counter remedy which knocks it out in three days. It's called Tagamet and the active ingredient is Cimetadine. Its efficacy was discovered by accident when someone who came to the doctor for indigestion coincidentally came down with shingles the same day. The doctor prescribed Tagamet for the indigestion and they were surprised that her course of shingles only lasted for a few days. Since then it has been shown to work really well. Only the Tagamet brand seems to work.

Anyway, I discovered the information too late to help my circumstance, but now I share this tip whenever I see that it could help someone else.

I also keep Tagamet in my medicine cupboard and in my bug out bag. It's a great thing for preppers to keep in mind, as having someone in your party get shingles would absolutely ruin any kind of a bug out situation.

No, it's not. It's chicken pox.

After you "recover" from the pox, it really just goes dormant - it doesn't die. You carry it for the rest of your life. When your immune system is over-taxed, it can show up again.

That being said, I would just take care of my immune system and not deal with the vax.

Personally, I don't have to worry too much. I never had chicken pox.

But after the bullshit over the last two years, I don't think I will ever take another vax for anything - ever.

If you had chickenpox as a kid, you still have the virus and can develop shingles.

no, it's the opposite. you get shingles as an adult when you've not been exposed to the herpes zoster while you were a child.

that's why it's encouraged to get a healthy child infected as they're going to encounter it at some point in their lives.

you get shingles when you encounter chicken pox for the first time.
