I will say that beautiful women with bodies like Salma Hayek set unrealistic standards. Kinda like Schwarzenegger and Stallone in the 80's. Women are either born with looks or not. A very few men are born with great builds, most use drugs.

My son is into physical fitness and I remember him saying to me that he doesn't date heavy women. He said it almost like he felt bad, in his words that he was being 'superficial'. I told him that it's normal and healthy that he would not feel attracted to fat women. I asked him why would he be attracted to a fat woman that may someday carry those genetics onto his offspring and "do you want fat kids?" He laughed, like I was joking and I told him I'm being serious. I went on to explain that a fat woman would have nothing in common with him. His daily routine is dedicated to physical fitness and that he would be better suited to find a mate who shares his values.

My daughter has bought into the notion of accepting everyone and not to 'judge a book by its cover'. She told me she thinks I'm too judgmental - I told her she's not judgmental enough. You don't have to be a psychoanalyst to be able to discern whether someone makes bad life choices. They usually tell you by their appearance. If they have a face tattoo, that's usually a good indicator of a person who lacks foresight/insight and don't make good choices. Someone who spends a fortune on a plastic surgeon is insecure, self absorbed and narcissistic (the Kartrashians come to mind).

I generally do tend to judge people by how they choose to look. I think that's normal human behavior. I'm not talking about things beyond their control, but legit, thought out choices they've invested into shaping their physical appearance.

When I was Yumi Nu's age (25) I had a tight body, strong, physically fit (as a 25 year old should be) and was getting ready to go through basic training. I'm middle aged now, approaching menopause and have put on some weight in my midriff that I'm trying to get rid of. I'm comfortable in my body, recognize what needs work and accept I'll never have the same body I did in my 20s - that's just the facts of life.
