Combined airborne - air assault Hold up, the 101st isn't airborne any more? When did that happen? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 81067332 Yes, I get it's possibly an out moded form of warfare, but that doesn't usually stop the army from training people to do it. You know, just in case. Because they're there to get trained anyway. mid to late 80s. |

Combined airborne - air assault Cool. Sounds like a new special forces division. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 71034010 They will be bad ass once they learn their pronouns and how to fight urban warfare in high heels. Rangers basically do this now. 82nd and 101st used to both be airborne. 101 went Air Assault. I been through all three schools, plus a few, Air Assault was no joke. Thank you for your oath to defend our government instead of our people or liberty. Shut the fuck up! The oath is to defend the Constitution; which delineates human individual rights and tells government what it can’t do. Are you a soldier? No. You're an errand boy. An errand boy sent out on a mission to make sure my money is safe. |

Apaches for attack and Blackhawks for inserting infantry. But the 101st expands on this. Instead of being a component of an armored "attack" division this air component comprises the entire division. They can pummel you with squadron after squadron of apaches while simultaneously inserting battalions of infantry via Blackhawks. |

A really stupid thing would be to parachute airborne in just because you got em. It's risky Most of the time the 82nd is just used as a top of the line light infantry division. And because it's light infantry it's relatively fast to deploy. |

America's citizenry has never faced a more well armed authoritarian tyrannical bureaucratic life, liberty and pursuit of happiness robbing machine as it does at this very moment. Just crickets. |

Gonna say this is a coincidence that the division will only be 200 miles from Russia Quoting: Anonymous Coward 80253974 The 82nd and 101st are now joined by the 11th [link to www.military.com (secure)] Commanded by a two star chosenite. |
