I am very concerned about your public statements and the drive to create a new ‘pandemic preparedness treaty’ with The World Health Organisation as well as the amendments being put forward to the International Health Regulations.

Amendments being submitted to IHR currently will mean the WHO is being asked to have more say over how to classify a pandemic and also what should be done about it. Nations have very specific, differing situations across the globe. They must be able to decide what to do, how and when – and we as citizens need to be able to hold elected representatives accountable within our nation state. WHO declaring a pandemic for any number of reasons (one big concern is modelling) and recommending uniform responses is unacceptable.

It is a good idea to quickly email your MP along similar lines, too.

I am writing to you today because I am enormously concerned about the drive to create a new ‘pandemic preparedness treaty’ with The World Health Organisation as well as the amendments being put forward to the International Health Regulations.

I do not wish to see our nation being lock stepped into decisions that are unaccountable to us as citizens. In theory, the WHO may only issue treaties and recommendations, however we have seen the consequences of recommendations over the last two years.

Amendments being submitted to IHR currently will mean the WHO is being asked to have more say over how to classify a pandemic and also what should be done about it. Nations have very specific, differing situations across the globe. They must be able to decide what to do, how and when – and we as citizens need to be able to hold elected representatives accountable within our nation state. The WHO declaring a pandemic for any number of reasons (one big concern is modelling) with uniform responses is unacceptable.


The World Health Organisation has contracted T- Systems, a subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom, to create Digital ID Vaccine Passports for 194 countries – which The EU has also done. Why is this not being openly debated? This is a crucial issue for the British Public – we do not want a ‘Papers Please’ society.

While I understand that it is important to be able to engage internationally, with trade and treaties, this is something that needs to be debated openly with full transparency in Britain.

Will you call for the following, to ensure we get a proper open discussion about this?

1. Full debate in both Houses of Parliament on IHR amendments and WHO Pandemic Preparedness Strategy

2. Independent Review that assesses the treaty, proposed amendments and implications – for we now know that from the modelling chosen to the experts consulted, what constitutes a threat varies greatly depending on how evaluated and assumptions used

3. A Select Committee to provide full scrutiny

4. A Public Debate, televised live “Should Britain sign a new pandemic preparedness strategy with The World Health Organisation?” with speakers from Together Declaration represented

5. An undertaking that we will not proceed with any agreement that substitutes British sovereign decisions and accountability to any supranational unaccountable organisation

I very much look forward to your response on this crucial issue and shall be basing my voting decisions partially upon this.
