Evolution.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 72946100

Evolution is a lie and scientifically impossible as an explenation for anything BASED ON SCIENCE, here James Tour explains why:

 Quoting: Just†Me

You don't know what you're talking about. 'Origin of life' is not evolution, and James Tour (who is not a biologist) is at odds with the scientific consensus.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 80131628

Have not watched yet, probably a good video.

Recently it occurred to me that is organisms evolve to a higher level then why havent ALL species evolved?

And have to say, have not seen that question asked. So, i will keep an eye out for it AND see if it gets copied then i will know i dropped a dirty bomb on evolution.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 79229108

Theres micro and macro evolution. Micro evolution is something christians hold to, because that can be demonstrated. It means information already put in us gives room for change over time, for example that all humans descend from Adam, whites, blacks, native americans, chinese etc. Same can be said for cats where everything from tigers to housecats go back to an ancient cat ancestor. But a housecat can never evolve into an eagle if the information for that wasnt put there by the creator, and time is not a magic wand, you cant roll a couple of dices and expect that to create a chimp if you just sit there and roll the dices a few billion years, that wont do anything except for the dices turning into dust.

The theory of evolution claims that life, which we now know for a fact needs an extremely complex DNA, digestive system, cell membrane etc (as explained by James Tour) so it can do the basic tasks life needs to do to exist like take in nutrition and replicate itself perfectly from the second life began, "evolved".............from WHAT? Sand? A mythological "premordial soup"? This soup is atheist mythology, like the tooth fairy or lord of the rings, because something like that has never been demonstrated.

If you dont have what you need to make up a cell from the second life starts, you dont have life, you have dead matter, and all dead matter is lightyears way from living matter, its like comparing an iron ore to a sword, if you find a sword in the forest you know someone made it! So life didnt pop out of the blue, its scientifically impossible.

 Quoting: Just†Me

...and WHY are atheists so clueless about science like we can see here? Its not us CHRISTIANS that base or world view on science, its atheists, and since atheists base their world view on science, you better KNOW science, or else you have nothing but blind faith.

As a christian, i dont have blind faith, i can see the bible is the truth trough verifiable prophesies, logic and reasoning etc which go beyond natural science. Basically, i dont even need to know anything about DNA and how cells work to know God is real.

But when even the natural sciences debunks your atheism, and this is what you put your faith and entire world view in as an atheist, then you have a problem.

Re: Where did God come from?
What helped shake me out of my matheralistic world view and take the quantum leap into realizing the spiritual aspect of reality maybe isnt that unreal as i first thought (which also is completely unscientific) was this:

Remember this is flawed science trying to figure out spirituality. The danger here is that the end station of this thinking as explained in this video is to come to the conclusion that YOU are god in your OWN world. We are subjected to the laws of God regardless which anyone that had their share of problems in life know very well, so you can rule that out, or else you would find yourself on a billion dollar yacht in the pacific (which is why the wealthy fall for this way of thinking i guess). So being wealthy in this life can be a curse.

But I did notice i could think about people i hadnt thought about for years and suddenly they called. Things like that happened regulary, i think most notice these strange experiences. Billions of people do accept a form of spirituality, and tap into various types of dark spirituality and supernaturalism which new agers, hindus, people into nature religions, shamans etc dabble in.

You need the bible to sort this out. But atleast atleast it was science that helped shake me out of dead matherealism which was a huge barrier for me before accepting Christ and what the bible taught fully, and this barrier is what i think prevents alot of atheists from believing. Because believing in the bible also means you have a supernatural world view.

But holding to a supernatural world view doesnt mean you throw away logic and reason, that is actually a part of it. And if you realize that time is not a magic wand as ive tried to explain here, youre ready to dump the atheist world view completely and fully accept the literal understanding of Gods word, because that is what lines up with both science and the truth, which is personafied in Christ.

oh and this overspiritualize reality, then you start going into gnosticism and mysticism. The bible seperate between physical reality and the spiritual reality, and spiritual reality is far from "all good", the fallen realm is part of the spiritual world. Keep Hebrews 11:3 in mind if you watch this video:

"By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible."

I've seen the video, and I've seen responses from scientists that actually study evolution.

Your question 'why haven't all species evolved?' is one that you can easily answer yourself if you just learn a little about the theory.

All species have evolved, but evolution does not work towards a predetermined goal. Other species are as evolved as we are, but they are evolved to survive in their environmental niche, and they can do it better than us.

As far as we can tell, genetic changes occur randomly via mutation, and natural selection is a filtering process. mutations that increase the likelihood of reproduction are more likely to be passed to the next generation, while mutations that impair reproduction are more likely to be removed from the gene pool. This simple rule is enough to ensure an automatic trend, whereby a genepool is 'pressured' towards adaption.

Aside from mutation, there are other processes that can alter genes (such as horizontal gene transfer) and it's possible there are still processes we have yet to discover.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 80131628

The bullshit you write here is proof you havent seen this video. Youre yapping away like a programmed robot, but you dont know what youre yapping.

First, he doesnt talk about this at all.

Second, you cant demonstrate "mutations" generate information, because information takes an information giver. Christians are fully aware that humans and other creatures can change over time, thanks to information already put in us by the creator. Mutations are basically LOSS of information as explained here, which is a completely different topic from what James Tour is talking about, because James Tour explains to you why a cell and life cant pop out of the blue to begin with since that DNA and the rest of the cell neet to exist at the second life starts.

But ok, since you brought this up, heres one on that topic aswell:

 Quoting: Just†Me

"Second, you cant demonstrate "mutations" generate information, because information takes an information giver."

This is a really stupid thing to say. You don't have a clue what you're talking about. Mutations can add, subtract and duplicate genes. All DNA uses the same 4 letter alphabet: A, G, T and C. The only difference between different species is the order in which these letters are arranged. And mutations can change the arrangement.

An information giver? WTF? Tree rings give us information about the age of the tree. Who is the information giver there? There is none. You are ignorant. Stop speaking authoritatively about shit you didn't understand. It's the equivalent of lying.

The origin of life and evolution are two separate processes. You should start by learning the difference.

Life in various forms exploded at the same time during the cambrian explosion and had aprox the same forms it has today, that is what the fossil records reveal, NOT a branching out gradually into various types of life like evolution should show:

No, you're just confused. Unfortunately for you, evolution isn't that easy to debunk. Scientists have been trying for a century, but all we do is find more evidence for it.

RNA (the likely precursor to DNA) is capable of forming naturally, and replicating without a modern cell.

Re: Where did God come from?
...

But ok, since you brought this up, heres one on that topic aswell:

yes, i saw the video years ago. And again, I saw responses by actual biologists that study evolution. This guy is only impressive to ignorant, emotional people like you.

DNA is highly complex code (information) that is in all life.
 Quoting: Just†Me

Immediately wrong. RNA exists.

In a computer, you can break down code to 0 and 1, in DNA, its A, G, T and C.
 Quoting: Just†Me

Yes, I just told you this. However, binary code is digital. DNA uses physical nucleotides. A=Adenine, G=guanine, c=Cytosine, T=thymine. these are 4 nucleotides that are bonded together into a chain-like molecule. <Mutations can rearrange the sequence of this chain. That is all you need to account for the differences between species.

DNA deciding my height takes intelligent life? What does that even mean? We can see DNA mutating and changing in real time. We don't see any intelligence guiding this process, unless you consider all natural processes to be 'destined' or a manifestation of God's will.

Your idea that 'randomness' can't generate information is strange. The result of a dice roll is information. Isn't that random? I'm not even sure what you're trying to say.

Evolution.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 72946100

Dinosaurs lived on earth for 165 million years and didn't evolve.

Yet the human ancestors evolved in 6 million of years?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 82746597

What? Dinosaurs did evolve. No single species of dinosaur lived for 165 million years. We've found transitional fossils that are between theropod dinosaurs and modern birds.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 80131628

Really? Where?

No clear transitional fossils:
[link to www.icr.org (secure)]

Example: A crocodile with long legs is a crocodile (example of a fossil i know of that is called a "transitional fossil"), not a middle stage between crocodile and lizard.

Life in various forms exploded at the same time during the cambrian explosion and had aprox the same forms it has today, that is what the fossil records reveal, NOT a branching out gradually into various types of life like evolution should show:

 Quoting: Just†Me

The animals all escaped from the zoo at the same time because of the explosion.

Archaeopteryx is one of many transitional dinosaur/birds. There are many transitional fossils, no matter how much you stick your head in the sand and ignore them.

Do you understand that there isn't a single land animal in the Cambrian?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 80131628

Archaeopteryx is a bird, not a transitional dinosaur/bird.
 Quoting: Just†Me

It has teeth, fingers, and a reptilian tail. If I remove the feathers from archaopteryx, you would never call it a bird. I have tested Creationists on this, and they can't tell the difference between an archaeopteryx and a raptor.

Your problem with the cambrian explosion is a huge number of animals arising at the same time. That debunks the theory of evolution. The fossil records contradict you.

The bible puts creation in stages.
 Quoting: Just†Me

It's not 'my problem.' It seems to be yours. The cambrian spans millions of years. No land animals exist. It doesn't debunk evolution at all, that's just your baseless assertion.

You're asking a question that he can't solidly answer.

Because I'm still waiting for the big TV that my hubby threw in the backyard and broke to evolve into a working Flat screen. Apparently it will take eons to happen.

.
 Quoting: Lilopin

Evolution requires reproduction. your TV can't evolve, because it can't reproduce. You lack even a child's understanding of evolution theory.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 80131628

And with that fact, you have admitted life, where the simplest life forms we have are cells, needed to be fully functional, with DNA, ability to reproduce, take in nutrition and digest it etc, from the second it arose. And with that admission, you just debunked the theory of evolution.

See the James Tour video posted here.
 Quoting: Just†Me

No, you're just confused. Unfortunately for you, evolution isn't that easy to debunk. Scientists have been trying for a century, but all we do is find more evidence for it.

RNA (the likely precursor to DNA) is capable of forming naturally, and replicating without a modern cell.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 80131628

Youre misrepresenting science, and thats what you need to do to try to make the lie of evolution sound credible to people here. Article on what youre actually talking about for those interested:

So youre back to deal with what James Tour says, the exact same dilemmas, youre just trying to throw dust in peoples faces leading them down a road going nowhere.

So, to repeat James Tours points: how did the information in DNA and these molecules supposedly spontaniously pop out of the blue, in a cell body that could replicate itself, take in nutrition etc, which all needed to be in place the second life arose?

I'd like to know where 'consciousness' comes from.
 Quoting: Garufal

God = energy = mass
Consciousness= soul = intelligent energy

All things come from and are part of God.

Only those things with consciousness have a soul or intelligent energy.

This implies that even your dog or cat has a soul.

But, most of us here at GLP already know this...

Re: Where did God come from?
I bet you never heard about the information from the CERN experiment showed? Well, one scientist said, in hunting for the big bang and god particle they found out that everything in our universe came into being about the same time, and it came from outside our Universe, it had to have been from what they found. This means everything in the sky exists in a one-time frame, by an Intelligent designer, not an alien or some strange god, it was by design, and guess what most people who believe in God know who that designer is. You can also hang up evolution, they are continually making updates that cannot be proven it can be countered though. Even by showing the flood story does have evidence, like the topsoil in someplace in the United States show the first deposits are on the bottom instead of the top. The older deposit is on the top, just kind of laid down by a great movement of land and water. There are also the seashells of ancient sea creatures on the tops of high mountains. There is, of course, no difference in age of every star in the heavens above, all the things on the first day and then others on different days, those days may have been long days than normal days because to God time doesn't mean as much, even earth didn't count the time, until the all of the heavens and the heavenly bodies, were put in place.

One day a thousand years and a thousand years to the day, it was their way of saying we don't understand God's timing. There is the history of mankind though because the records are seen. The earth's core shows how life came into being with layers of earth, man is a late group who came suddenly on the earth and all other animals and more modern things. Evolution has become a religion for many people, they know their meal ticket may be affected because they study it as a living. I will say you don't hear as much today from them, no you get all kinds of other ideas than just one thing The Lord God, if he really for them, well. Enough said. You may also rethink dinosaurs and remember they were dragons long ago, and there are stories about them and even killing them in caves. Of course, some could have been killed for food. You cannot crave a picture or draw a picture by just looking at bones. There are carvings and paintings with dinosaurs/ dragons in them.
Sorry I got a headache

These are the times that tries men's and
women's souls!

May we come though it victorious!

If you paid attention, you'd see I already answered your question. It didn't spontaneously appear. RNA existed before DNA, and RNA can form naturally outside of cells.

And for the fifth time, evolution only happens AFTER life appears. Evolution is change in heritable traits of a population over generations. Please, pay attention this time.

The origin of life (abiogenesis) and evolution are two separate processes. Even if we prove that a god snapped his fingers and caused the first life to appear supernaturally, that doesn't mean it didn't evolve AFTER appearing.
