My biggest concern in all debates and confrontations is the lack of time and the poisoned atmosphere in which discussions are forced to take place.

That girl had less than two minutes to address the entire current of America's educational system. Even I couldn't do that in two minutes.

If I had more time to present a Christian position, and wasn't about to be arrested on some specious grounds at a school board meeting, I would probably begin with what Jesus faced 2,000 years ago, and how He responded to some situations back then. After all, the principles of human interaction do not really change over time. That is why we find quotes from wizened Greek and Roman thinkers and writers from millennias past, for example, on school walls today.

This said - and I won't go any further with this discussion here - I do not see a Jesus in the New Testament of the Bible who cared much for mass appeal. In fact, he said some things which almost appear designed to drive people away, and when his close disciples saw everybody taking off, Jesus just doubled down on His teachings. One of the things He said was that God's kingdom in someone's life is like a large stone - a person either falls upon it and is broken, or it falls on the person and they are crushed. This is spiritual talk. No Benny Hinn or Kenneth Copeland theatrics and greed.

Anyway, good on the girl for trying. Bible verses don't always sit well for someone sitting there and squirming in their chair with dirty thoughts or financial matters filling their minds. What's a couple Bible verses got to do with that?
