Shingles looks like a bad case of poison ivy, to me at least.

Monkeypox can look the same sometimes but almost always has distinctive pustules. But monkeypox forms lesions on the palms of the hands and the soles of the feet. Shingles usually forms in the leg and groin area. Hard to confuse them.

A simple test can determine which it is.
